JIS College of Engineering BCA Review By Rudradeep Mandal

JISCE is managed by JIS Group which is one of the leading educational groups in east India. This particular was very near to my home. Students from various cities come here so the social experience is phenomenal. There may be nil internship opportunities but the placements are quite good for a 3 year program. Extracurricular activities and all round development of the students are a priority here.

Enrolling into BCA program requires CET exam which is conducted by the affiliating university, MAKAUT in this case. Being an autonomous institute CET is not mandatory but it is advisable to write in the exam for affordable fees eligibility and streamlined process of admission. I wanted to get a head start in IT, that's why I enrolled.

Faculties are highly experienced, knowledgeable and approachable. They've published various academic research papers which contribute greatly to their specific field of expertise. Few of the renowned faculties here are finest teachers ever produced by the college themselves who give back to the community by sharing their immense knowledge.

Our college does have a very active placement cell but they provide good placements only to the B.Tech CSE and IT students. Core placements are nonexistent. BCA and BBA mostly get irrelevant offers like customer care executive. Only MNCs offer good jobs.

Hostel facility is there, but it is highly none regulated. Overall, the facilities and security are average here.

The campus has different facilities for different departments and courses. The library is huge with OPAC facility and good collection of academic resources along with published thesis from the faculty and the students themselves. Library has good Wi-Fi and internet connectivity along with study room. Medical facilities to provide first aid are also there.

The campus of JISCE is lush green with smart facilities like solar lights, IoT garden, etc. Tech Fest and cultural fests are valued greatly here, both are conducted annually. And periodically the freshers and farewell parties are organised here. Few departmental and club fests like photography, singing and painting are also there. Various extracurricular activities such as photography and coding are conducted here frequently. Sports participation is very much appreciated in the institute. Indoor game room and rooftop café is also there for enjoyment and refreshment of the students.
