An unbiased review on Bidhannagar College, Kolkata

Overall Rating
Bidhannagar College is a well-known educational institute in West Bengal. Students from nearby districts and other states are studying in the College. I have chosen the College for its education in Anthropology. Its Anthropology department is one of the well-known UG departments of India. Overall, the college has a good environment and forms a good academic foundation for the students.
 

Academics Rating
B.Sc Anthropology course is of 4 years and the curriculum followed is according to NEP rules. This course includes an internship program and research program in the 4th academic year. This course has a great scope in the fieldwork in Anthropology. Eligibility a criterion for admission to the course is that the students must score at least 60% marks in Biology and Mathematics.
 

Faculty Rating
We have the best faculties in our department. Other departments also have good faculties. We have 7 faculty members in our department and all of them are Ph.D holders. They have published numerous research papers on special topics. They have totally modern education-based teaching style, like using Smart boards, presentations, etc. to make us understand the concepts in a better way. We also have practical classes in Physical Anthropology lab and Archaeological lab.
 

Placement Rating
Placement Cell is not present in our college.
 

Hostel Rating
The College does not provide hostel facilities.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Buildings are average. The campus is huge and has greenery all around. We have a great library having 50,000+ books, with a peaceful study environment. A huge ground I available in the campus to play and for conducting sports contests.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is superb, and I have had great experiences. One of the best parts of this college is that they organise 2-3 seminars on interesting topics every month. An Annual Fest named Dhun is organised every year. Annual Sports are conducted in the winter season including games such as tug of war, football, kabaddi, cricket, race tournament, and many more.

    College is quite good but there are many advantages as well as disadvantages. Advantage such as teachers are good and well educated, good in behavior, and teach you well. There is no ragging at all as I already pass 2 years. There is no discrimination of gender, colour, etc. Disadvantage such as cleanliness is not maintained.
