Being a Sophomore in UIET

Overall Rating
I joined this institute in the year 2023. So I got to know about this college in JAC Counseling. It’s a top college under JAC Chandigarh. I was always passionate about learning coding so I need CSE or IT from any college I will be studying.
 

Academics Rating
Course content is at par with some of the most reputed IITs and NITs. There are total of 5 branches namely, CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, Mechanical, and Biotechnology. You have got a decent score in JEE Mains to get admission in this college. 60% in 12th board is what you need to be eligible for this college.
 

Faculty Rating
No doubt, faculty here in UIET, Chandigarh are highly qualified teachers but some teachers lack the technique in delivering the knowledge they have. Of course there are few exceptions. Institute has some very good teachers. If you have doubts, they will try their best to clear your doubts.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we have TPC (Training and Placement Cell). Placement here is quite good. CSE and IT being most demanded job fields. Various companies like Infosys, Gemini Solutions, Edureva, ZS Associates, Adobe, KPMG, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, etc. have been visiting the campus for placements.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, we have hostels for both boys and girls. There are 8 boy’s hostels and 10 girl’s hostels. 11th girl’s hostel is in under-construction. Getting hostel in this institute is a bit hard as only those students get hostels who have good rank in their entrance exams. Others have their name in waiting list which when will be cleared no idea. However there are other options for accommodation for boys nearby like Maharana Pratap hostel, etc.
 

Infrastructure Rating
This institute has a decent infrastructure. It is majorly divided into 2 blocks, Block 1 and Block 2. Also, there are workshops, canteens, and tuck shops. Lecture halls are fine. Block 1 which is for 2nd to 4th year students has got ACs in lecture halls and labs. There are few lecture hall turned seminar halls for special occasions. There is projector in many lecture halls. It has its own library. If you are taking mechanical branch, then you should know that it has got good labs and knowledgeable staff. It also has 5 CAD labs.
 

Campus Rating
College life here is very good as compared to other colleges as it is situated in Chandigarh which will offer all kinds of amenities. There is no academic pressure from college ruining your personal time. The institute has various clubs from Literature, Drama, Robotics, Gaming, Dance, Music, Programming, Moto Sports, Marketing, etc. These clubs and committees help a great deal in your personal learning and experience.

    UIET is the engineering department of Panjab University. It is a tier 1 college. It is a nice college with a competitive study environment, The faculty is really approachable and the facilities for research are great.     Overall Chandigarh University gives you top notch infrastructure and facilities when it comes to studies and campus life. Although, the quantity of students is a matter of concern.     CU is a good university academically and placement wise. It also provides tons of opportunities to the students for better future and learning.
