Heritage Institute of Technology B.Tech Review By Bitan Das

I am a student of Mechanical 3rd year. My experience is very good in my institute. Few plus points that i can point out at this moment can be big campus size, canteen, sports room, well furbished library with wide range of books, and security. Lastly, the final point that i want to point out which is not so important but our institute doesn't have any specific uniform. We can wear what we like.

For getting admission in our institute, you have to sit for WBJEE examination, and then through it, you can get through counseling. For different departments, the cutoff rank varies accordingly. Few seats are reserved for management quota. You can enroll for B.Tech, M.Tech, BBA, BCA, B.Sc, LLB and B.A in various fields. Heritage Group of Institutions consists of Heritage Institute of Technology for technical courses, Heritage Academy for management courses and Heritage Law Institute for Law and Heritage institute for various bachelor degrees in various subjects.

We have experienced professors for various fields. According to me, there are many professors who are really helpful and available anytime for any academic help or cooperate with submission in assignments. They also help with providing convenient notes with minimum texts and teaching with practical experiences for better understanding. They are friendly.

Our placement cell is one of the best right now in Kolkata. It has a great placement rate which varies with department but have a good average in placement rate. Last year, our department got an average placement rate of above 80%, with average package of 4.5 LPA, with highest around 11-12 LPA.

Our institute doesn't have boys hostel. But our institute has girl's hostel with great infrastructure.

Our campus total has 3 buildings in Technical Institute. First one is CME which comprises of core departments. It a 7 (G+6) storey building with an underground basement workshop for practical experience and various project work. The ground floor contains the principal office, placement cell, joint register's office, seminar hall, innovation Lab for research purposes and departmental laboratories’ 6th floor consists of computer labs for teaching various designing software’s .My classes are conducted in CME building so i am more acquainted with it. The 2nd building CB is a 7 (G+6) story building comprised of project office, executive hall, and S.V auditorium. In the underground basement, we have our large library, having proper sitting facilities, centrally air conditioned, with various books of different genres comprising academic books, motivational books, competitive examinations based and also various story books too. It also has a digital library for studying through online lectures or for preparing for competitive examinations, accessing previous year question papers, or accessing various books online. The last building is ICT, 7 (G+6) storey building, with basement having computer laboratories for computer based departments.

Our institute has different events throughout the whole year. To make it very clear, we don’t have freshers or get fests. Recently, we had our cultural fests for the very first time. I am really lucky to have to enjoy fests till key academic period. We have different clubs for different extracurricular activities. I am a part of art, craft and photography club. Recently we hosted our club fest ‘Celeste’ and it was one of the great fest that was hosted this year. We also have drama club: Anubhav, music club: Resonance, poetry and writer’s club: Amanita, flyers club, debate club and many others. We have sports week at the start of February where we participate in inter-departmental sports competition comprising various sports like football, cricket, badminton, volleyball, archery, gully cricket, basketball and many others.
