As for my overall experience of this university is moderately okay. The cultural aspect of this university is quite good, on a weekly basis there are various programs and events which are conducted to make the university life more fascinating and fun. One of the drawbacks of this university is that it is located in the outskirts of Bhubaneswar which makes the travelling to the city much harder than it is supposed to be. The first batch of BSOL passed out 2 years back and the placements have been improving since then.

The main information I can give out for the course of BBA LL.B is that for the two years of college each semester there will be a mix of 3 BBA and 3 Basic Law subjects. After that you will learn about main subjects on law in your 3rd year. In the start of your 4th year, you either need to opt for Criminal Law or Corporate Law in furtherance of your clinical paper. As for the eligibility for this is passing marks of 60% in your 12th standard as well they also admit students on the basis of CLAT score. If you haven't given CLAT then it's okay. There is a simple interview process to be done with the admitters asking your goals for the university as well as your strengths and weaknesses. The main motive of mine was to get enrolled and after the competition of the course you will directly go for practicing law or either Ph.D in furtherance of my knowledge for the same.

I have opted this course because law as a subject has always fascinated me to be involved in the literature at an earlier stage of my life. The teachers that we have at our university are with the qualification of their respective Ph.D and they are admitted at the position of the Assistant Professor while serving a period of one month as a Trainee. The main rational behind the teaching method of our university professors is to help us in the theoretical aspect as well as the practical aspect for the knowledge of law so that the students are industry ready to be able to handle things when they go out to work for the same. The teaching methods usually comprises of teaching the students through presentations, class room activities, court room visits (to help in learning the practical aspect of law) with students being given assignments to be able to inculcate the learning for the same. We also have to write at least one research paper every semester. This helps the students to learn more effectively and efficiently. As for the exam, a class test at the discretion of the concerned faculty is conducted with a prior notice for the same.

The students of the Birla School of Law are eligible for placement & job opportunities after their 3rd Year and it has to be approved by the dean of our school to pursue the same. There were quite less visited recruiters since last year but after the establishment of the Placement Committee specifically for the purpose to help the law students for better placements and then the amount of visiting companies will be comparatively better than before. The usual package that our seniors had was around 3, 00,000 yearly and the highest package was around 5, 00,000 yearly. The percentage of students opting for studying further was big and the amount of students recruited was quite less compared to the best placement colleges.

I have opted for the Hostel and as for the food quality is quite okay and the menu for the students mess offers a variety of cuisines while making the harmonization from the mix of North Indian Food Style with South Indian Food Style separately. The infrastructure of hostel is quite spacious to live in with the college authorities providing a Bed, Mattress, AC, Table & Chair, and Wardrobe with attached washroom and bathroom. The university has also provided two common washing machines and microwave with the laundry service at the campus itself. The process to apply for the Hostel is mainly based on the availability of the rooms in the Hostel while consulting the Hostel Superintendent to check for the availability of the same. The fees of the Hostel varies from the double sharing room is at 74,200 and the cost for the triple sharing room is 70, 200. There is also an option for single sharing room at 1, 10,000 (all of these charges are of each semester). All of these charges includes the mess charges, laundry charges etc. As for the institution's life of a resident is quite good, the nearby places also have the basic necessities products that you can get for daily essentials. As for the recreational activities, they have badminton court, table tennis, and TV on each floor.

The Infrastructure of my university is derived from the concept of Roman Architecture, which inculcates the concepts through the pillars of every building acting as a base to uphold the values for the same. The academic block of our university has been equipped with central library with office of admission, accounts department and offices of our Vice Chancellor & Registrar. There's also a seminar hall in the Academic Block. All of the respective Schools of Communication, Management, Law, etc. have been equipped with a purified RO dispenser and common washroom for the students. There's also specified parking for the students as well as faculties. The main gate security is equipped with fingerprint to ensure verified entry of the students, faculties and employees. Also without the identity card of the student, no other persons are allowed, with the exceptions being the relatives or friends of the students with their entry at the main college gate.

The Cultural Committee every year organizes a cultural fest called "SPECTRA" in which they invite artists to perform in a 3 day fest and it is usually conducted at the end of every year. The Cultural Committee is a student driven committee where the committee decides all the events for the following semester as well as they act as the main organizing committee for the fest as well as for the normal events that are conducted on a regular basis to ensure a better holistic development of the students with extracurricular activities. The Sports Committee organizes the sports fest called "ATOS" in which many of the sports are played throughout the year. In this the four houses of the university are competing for the best house. In these events the most of the sports are Badminton, Handball, Cricket, Football, Table Tennis, Volleyball, and Basketball. As for the extracurricular activities of the college, there's a tentative to be followed, by which accordance most of the program as well as the events are conducted. There are a few clubs in Law School like Legal Aid Society, Moot Court Committee, Placement Cell, and Conference Committee.
