KIIT Bhubaneswar is a good private institute. The institute accepts applications from a large pool of students and has a huge campus. There are courses from almost all the major disciplines. I chose this institute because of the exposure it provides and the healthy competition it sustains. One particular aspect of the university is its culture. There are numerous societies and extracurricular opportunities on various levels. It gives you a chance to explore multiple domains throughout your course duration.

When it comes to B.Tech courses, there are multiple inter-disciplinary branches. Eligibility is a score of 75% above in the 12th standard examinations. Students also need to clear the KIITEE examination, which is conducted in various phases. My branch is Computer Science and Engineering.

The faculty members in the university are good. Almost all of them hold Ph.D from NITs or IITs and are involved in some sort of research work. Students can easily approach faculty members for research-related and academic-related doubts. The style of teaching involves discussions in classrooms and experimentation in laboratories.

Yes, KIIT does have a placement cell. Although efforts have been made to bring in more and more companies. The placement cell tries to coordinate students for various opportunities, but the crowd being excessively huge, often creates issues. Some students get internships and FTEs in good companies, but most have to settle for service-based companies and average startups.

Yes, there are hostels available in the institute. There are options of 2-bed and 3-bed AC and Non-AC available. Hostel infrastructures are mostly good and spacious. Hostel life is fun and hostels are well connected with the campuses. Many events are organised around campus and near hostels and there is never a dull moment. The hostel authorities are also supportive. For girls, the hostel-in-time is around 7-7.30 PM and for boys; it is around 9-9.30 PM. There are more than 20 hostels for girls and boys separately.

There are 23 campuses including all the disciplines. For B.Tech, classes are generally held in campuses 14 and 15, which are well maintained. There is a central research facility in the heart of the campus which is equipped with high-level research equipment. There is a TnP cell building and an ICT cell for dealing with technical issues. The campus is well connected with a huge market road and also has multiple food courts spread across. Stationary and basic amenities are never an issue.

When it comes to the crowd, students from all over India come to study at the university. The majority ranges from Eastern States such as West Bengal, Jharkhand, etc. For student engagement and fests, there is the KIIT Student Activity Center which has more than 20 societies and organizes many events and contests throughout the year. An annual fest, 3-day fest is held which hosts multiple technical as well as non-technical events.
