I have absolutely loved this institution, since I got into it on 2022. My college life has been really good and memorable. The college focuses on overall personality development which allows the students to make them engaged in extracurricular activities, service learning, etc.

If you are interested in Biological Diversity, Genetics, Cytology, Ecology or any other streams of Zoology, then the Zoology department is the place for you. If you have a decent score in 10+2 (about 80 % or more), you may get admission in the department.

Currently there are five fulltime professors. all of them are well qualified. They are very friendly, approachable and helpful. Some of them use presentations while others use the chalk and board for teaching. They provide hands on education in practical and the students are allowed to work on their ideas as well.

The institute has a placement cell which provides placement in reputed companies like TCS, Amazon, etc.

There are three separate hostels, two for the boys and one for the girls. The boys' hostels are 5 minutes away from the main campus, namely the Duff Hostel and the Wann Hostel. The girls' Hostel is 3 minutes away from the main campus namely Lady Jane Dundas Hostel.

The college has a main building, which has been designated as the Grade 1 heritage building by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Besides it has a separate science building, Jubilee building, extension building, Teachers' Education building and Millennium building. The college has a huge Library and Information Centre, Research and Development Cell, Entrepreneurship Cell, Intellectual Property Rights Cell, Innovation Cell, and more. It has two canteens one in the Jubilee building, another in the Millennium building. It also has a well maintained garden, a gymnasium, Yoga room, seminar hall and auditorium. The college also has its own playground at Bagmari.

The college life is pretty good. It has several clubs like the Literary Society, Debating Society, Eastern and Western Music Club, Dance Clubs, Drama Club, Quiz Club, other clubs for Painting, Photography, Chess, Fashion, and more. The college observes the annual activity day where all the students can showcase their talents through various competitions. The college also organises inter departmental football tournament once in a year. Annual sports also take place at around December.
