University Maharaja College, University of Rajasthan B.Sc Review By Ishu Kumar

Maharaja College is situated in Jaipur Rajasthan, which is only for boys. The campus is 179 years old with amazing infrastructure since it was made in the presence of Britishers. This is one of the best colleges in Rajasthan for pursuing Bachelors in Science.

Maharaja College admissions are based upon your class 12th percentage. For general category, it is 95% or above, for OBC category it is 92% or above, for SC ST categories it may vary from 85 to 90%. I feel proud to be students in this college. This is affiliated to University of Rajasthan. Labs for respected subjects are absolutely fine as compared to the other government colleges.

All the faculties are highly qualified and educated. They are very supportive especially in the laboratories as teachers help students to perform practicals and maintaining records. If you have any kind of query or doubt, you can directly go to the teachers and they will definitely help you.

Since this is a government college and majority of the students are pursuing a bachelor degree in non technical field, there is no placement for B.Sc students but some students are pursuing BCA from our college and they got placed sometimes.

Hostels have amazing infrastructures and good facilities are available. The mess in the hostel is also fine.

Maharaja College is divided into 6 divisions, namely Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Physics, Math, and Computer. In Maharaja College, there are two projector rooms, an open air theatre, two basketball ground, a tennis court, and football ground. Sometime same (football) ground is used for cricket and one more special thing about our college is it contains NCC which is pride of our college.

In our college, there are two big events: first one is freshers which is known as an ‘Aharya’ and second is annual fest which is known as ‘Aquaregia’. One other event is also hosted by our Gokhale hostel (which is a tournament of cricket which is hosted in the memories of late Satinder pal Singh who was a student in our college but he died in saving life). This is a very big tournament in Jaipur.
