Miranda House College B.A Review By Payal Meena

Getting into Delhi University has been my dream from the beginning. To be precise, getting into Miranda House has been a big dream and when I finally enrolled into it I couldn’t be more thankful. Now people often ask me this question that why did I choose Miranda House? There are several reasons due to which I wanted to get into Miranda House college. First of all, it is one of the top colleges of DU, situated in north campus. It is one of the best girl’s colleges in the country. Great faculty & very co-operative seniors. Finally, events are conducted enthusiastically.

To get into Miranda House, students need to clear the CUET examination and based on the cut off they get selected into the college. Usually the cut off is quite high so it is necessary to focus on the preparation of the examination. The course I chose is B.A program with the combination of History and Economics. There is no specific eligibility for the course it basically depends on the preference list you have made and submitted to the DU portal so it is mandatory to choose that wisely.

The faculty is very co-operative. The teachers are mostly researchers sharing their extra knowledge with life experiences with the students. Apart from what is written in the books, they teach beyond the lessons through practical knowledge or by sharing videos. Teachers are always available to solve students’ doubts.

I myself am a part of my college’s placement cell. The placement cell in Miranda is successful enough to organize various visits of big companies. Many students from our college have been settled with high package jobs. The cell keeps organizing various informative seminars and webinars and teaches students to get a bright and settled career.

Yes, Miranda House has hostel facility and there is a strict selection procedure for the same, based on the cut-offs. The hostel has varieties of meals. The infrastructure is nice there are double sharing rooms with Wi-Fi and attached bathrooms. The fee is also very affordable (around 50k for one semester). The hostel organizes various fests and party in order to let students enjoy.

The infrastructure is really nice. the buildings and architecture is beautiful and attractive. Every class has smart boards where teachers play videos to make the concept easier. The college has good range of Wi-Fi facilities. There are different block for different academic departments. The classes are big enough and 40-50 students can sit in one class easily.

The fests organized are very enjoyable and the college keeps organizing events for the students whether it is a festival or any other significant day. There are different clubs and societies which enhance the crow of Miranda through their performances within the college and outside as well. The most famous fest of Miranda is the ‘Tempest’ which is very famous among the non-Mirandians as well.
