I'm in History department of Jadavpur University. Our alumnies are now in good position. Our faculty is very good. Dr Kaushik Ray, Dr. Tilottama Mukherji wrote many books. All faculty members are very comparative and university also gives us many opportunities as long with academics. Many departments have strong research outputs. our university often ranks high in national level rankings for both academics and research excellence.

Arts faculty has many departments. Those are: English, Bengali, Comparative Literature, History, Economics, International Relationship, Philosophy, Sociology, and Sanskrit (for UG). And for post graduation: Mass Communication & Journalism, Physical Education, Education, Library Science, and Film Studies. For both undergraduate and postgraduate aspirants need to sit for entrance. For undergraduates, 50% weightage 10+2 level and 50% from entrance. Similarly, for masters 50% marks from graduation and rest 50% from entrance. University students not need to sit for master’s entrance again if they did that for their graduations. For Economics (BA), Math is compulsory at 10+2 level. For PhD, one needs to clear NET or SET exam and should have 55% in masters. This university is very much affordable. For our department, we need to pay 950 rupees per year and semester fee is only 50 rupees. someone from Economically backward section and have proof of that the fee will be refunded also. Various scholarships are also available.

The majority of faculty members hold Ph.D degrees in their respective fields from prestigious institutions in India and abroad (like Cambridge University). Many have studied or conducted research internationally, bringing global perspectives to their teaching. Faculty members are active researchers with publications in reputable national and international journals. Several have authored influential books, contributing significantly to their fields of study like "India's historic battle" and "India and the World war 2" by Kaushik Ray sir. "An early Paradise, trade politics and culture in early modern Bengal" by professor Tilottama Mukherji.

The Arts faculty does not have a dedicated placement cell. However, efforts are made at the departmental level to assist students in career planning. Individual departments within Arts Faculty often organize career counseling sessions and workshops to guide students on various career paths. Some departments collaborate with NGOs, research institutions, media houses, and cultural organizations to provide internship opportunities. Regular events are held to enhance employability skills, such as writing workshops, communication skills seminars, and networking events.

Arts faculty is in main campus, near Jadavpur 8b bus stand. Our Central Library has over 600,000 volumes, including books, journals, periodicals, thesis, and dissertations. Subscriptions to numerous e-journals and databases like IEEE, JSTOR, and Elsevier. Reading rooms with ample seating. Digital library section with computers and internet access. Special collections and archives. Every department has their seminar rooms, lifts in the building. We have free access to gym within our campus.

We have 3 grand fests called Sanskriti. Renowned bands are invited. AFSU Sanskriti is for 5 days, FETSU Sanskriti is for 9 days and SFSU Sanskriti for 3 days. Our university has many clubs like Photography Club, Dance Club, Painting Club, Drama Club, Music Club, Fin Club, Mountaineering Club, etc. and every club has their own annual event along with freshers and orientations. Also there is a tech fest called ‘Srijan’. Film fests like montage and chhayanat organized by film society where renowned actors and directors are invited. Clubs offering training in martial arts, yoga, and fitness activities. University sport team participates in inter-university and national-level tournaments. Departments regularly organize lectures by guest speakers, scholars, and industry experts. Workshops on topics like coding, data analysis, language proficiency, and soft skills. Conference conducted very often where regular presenters at academic conferences, they stay abreast of the latest developments and debates.
