Dronacharya College of Engineering B.Tech Review By Suresh Rana

Not much to choose between the private universities of Delhi/NCR as more or less all is the same. There are few differences like some are too much into studies while some are just for fun. DCE though has kept the right balance. DCE organizes events every now and then and through that they keep students morale high. This helps student give their best as they stay in right frame of mind. I was happy with college’s facilities and more so with the placements. For all those who have prepared well don't have to worry for the placements because placements were top quality. I have praised the facilities and the placements but that didn’t come without their excellent education system. To train students, they are sent for internship by the college. Workshops and seminars were conducted every other day. There was a lot for learning at the campus because at DCE one just can’t keep themselves away from the spotlight.

If I have to name one agenda of the college which was always at the top, then it was Academics. DCE always had the schedule planned and every event and holidays that came were factored in by the college and semester was planned within that. So academic wise some of the finest brains are available who exactly knows how to go about it. Funny though that some still found flaw in it but if I be honest, it couldn’t have been planned better. So, I will give 10 on 10 to the academics irrespective of what other might have to say.

I can also say about the faculty of my department CSE. The faculty of our department was highly qualified. Along with that their teaching methods and notes were also quite good. For all those who needed assistance for GATE examinations, the faculty helped them out with that. All the faculty were M.Tech or PhD holders. Along with engineering the faculty scaled some managerial skills in the students.

We were already given exposure to not just IT but many other industries where we can help them with technology. Nearly 80% of the students were placed in many top IT and Car manufacturing companies with some of the best packages. Placement cell should be thanked because they made sure that our preparations are right. So, with their help and the skills that we had we were placed from the campus. Some students who were carrying backlog were not allowed for the interviews. Those who were eligible had the placements from the campus.

Hostels were great but were available for the students who didn’t belong to NCR. The college had the transport facilities for students coming from Gurgaon, Delhi, or Faridabad. The bus fee was in the range of 20-25k per semester depending upon the area from where you board the college bus. Because I wasn’t a part of the hostel, I don’t know much about the facilities that were there. The college though has good hostels both for boys and girls.

The smart classes of the college made teaching easy for teachers and learning easy for students. College is fully Wi-Fi enabled and even the library has been digitized. There were ample labs as there are 7-8 engineering departments and each department had their labs. Since college promotes health at a large scale, every month a Yoga expert was called upon and the entire college used to do that at the beautiful college ground. All the kind of space required in engineering college like the networking labs, robotics labs, etc were there at the campus. For functions the college used to decorate auditorium hall better than PVRs. Infrastructure needs a hats off because the college has been made keeping all the engineering students demand in mind.

Life at DCE was amazing as there was so much to learn from the campus. I had an amazing time with my friends who have now become my friends for life. The seniors used to show their seniority and once we turned seniors, we did the same. All in good faith though because campus doesn’t allow ragging of any form. There were some high-profile students but even they had to stay grounded. No one was above the college is what we were made clear at the start and campus life therefore was amazing.
