I have chosen NIT Jalandhar because it has strong academic reputation among most of the institutes situated in Punjab. Here one will explore diverse field of Engineering and their practical application. High-tech labs are constructed and maintained for students providing practical learning environment. Along with that, it provides good internship and placement opportunity to its students because of good alumni network.

NIT Jalandhar provides a very strong academic foundation. It offers a variety of courses for B.Tech ranging from Computer Science to Textile Technology. Recently in 2023-24, new branches like Data Science & Engineering, Electronics and VLSI Engineering are introduced for the B.Tech courses. The institute provides a good balance between theory and application, preparing students well for both higher studies and industry placements. There exist good chances of qualifying exams like GATE.

The faculty of NIT Jalandhar is highly qualified. Almost all of the professors have their PhD degree from prestigious institutes like IITs. They focus more on practical knowledge instead for teaching from text books.

NIT Jalandhar provides good placement opportunity for its students. CSE, IT and ECE provides good placement with high packages whereas packages are average for the branches like Biotechnology and Textile. For the year 2024, placements are good with an average package of around 18 LPA for CS, IT, and ECE.

Hostels at NIT Jalandhar are well-maintained and provide comfortable space for living for students. NITJ has separate hostels for boys and girls. Hostels provide good facilities like 24 hours water supply, Wi-Fi facility, mess facility, etc. Mess food is also good comparing to other government institutes.

The institute provides facilities like academic building for each branch, lecture theatre, highly maintained playground, tennis court, badminton court, etc. The campus also provides green spaces and recreational area. The institute also has one temple in it. The institute has on open air theatre for various events.

Campus life at NIT Jalandhar is vibrant and engaging, providing student a combination of academics, extracurricular, and social activities. Various clubs are there related to sports, music, drama, debate, dance, etc. Each year, the institute organizes events like Bharatdhwani, Techniti, Utkansh, and several technical events to provide good exposure to its students.
