Every corner of Kurukshetra University feels calm and peaceful and the greenery offers comfort in every step.

I completed M.Sc Statistics from here, and the department is well regarded. The entry is based on merit cut-off list. The course work is challenging especially with advanced statistical concepts and mathematical rigor, but it’s manageable with the right focus. At times, it can feel like you are overburdened with tests and assignments but the faculty support helps to balance it out.

The faculty here is warm and supportive. Even if some of them are older they blend well with the younger generation and stay updated with the latest academic trends some faculty members are alumni of the university. The younger faculty is especially helpful, understanding the challenges students face. All faculty members are highly qualified with many holding PhDs and they have in depth knowledge of the subjects they teach.

In my opinion, the placement opportunities here are not particularly high valued overall. Each department has different levels of placements. Students receive placements according to their capabilities. However the teachers and faculty is very supportive when it comes to placements. They make sure that professional staff members are involved in guiding the placement process. There is also a dedicated placement cell that organizes placement drives. Ultimately, it depends on the student’s talent and hard work to secure a placement. From my batch many students got selected which shows that opportunities are available for those who are prepared.

Kurukshetra University has different hostels for boys and girls with hostels generally assigned to the students based on their departments. The system is well organized and it’s usually clear which hostel you will be placed in based on your course. The hostel fee is affordable, making it good options for the students from all backgrounds. The food provided in the hostel is decent with a variety of options available (3 times meal each day). The overall hostel area is well maintained. The hostel staff is quite helpful.

Kurukshetra University has a blend of old and new buildings as it’s actually an old university founded in 1956. The newer buildings are well maintained and beautiful with all essential facilities like a well stocked library computer labs and sports arena. The campus also houses ‘Dharohar’ a cultural museum that adds historical value to the university.

I stayed in the boy’s hostel and thoroughly enjoyed my time at Kurukshetra University. I met great people, the department was excellent and the campus area was perfect everything was possible because of university’s supportive environment. However one issue is the entry of outsiders without permission, which should be restricted.
