My views about National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar

Overall Rating
Hi, I am Murlidhar a 3rd year Mechanical student. I am from Bikaner, Rajasthan. I have taken admission in November 2022 through JEE Mains. First of all in JOSSA counseling I was allotted NIT Silchar but it is very far from my home. So I was trying to get another college in the next rounds. At the end of the counseling process, I was allotted NIT Jalandhar. I have taken admission in November 2022. From joining this campus to till now I have lots of memories from getting knowledge to having fun with friends.
 

Academics Rating
I am a Mechanical Engineering student. So I will only talk about Mechanical because I don't have much deeper knowledge about other branches. You need to clear JEE Mains to get this course. Subjects which I have studied are Engineering, Mathematics, Theory of Machine, Basic Programming, Strength of Material, Material Science and Metallurgy, Fluid Mechanics, Heat transfer, Design of Machine Elements, Mechatronics, etc.
 

Faculty Rating
There are about 25 to 30 faculties in my branch. Some of them have very good experience and knowledge but some are not able to make interest of the students in their subject. Some faculties have done there master from IITs but there are many faculties who have completed their education from NITs and other colleges.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we have a placement cell at our institute. Yes, it really helps to approach the company to hire the students. In my branch every year almost all students get placed which have no backlogs in their course.
 

Hostel Rating
There are 10 boy’s hostels and 4-5 girls’ hostel. Mess food is not as good as our home .You will definitely miss the home food when you are here.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Academics block is in the middle of the campus. It is a beautiful building and identity of our college. The most beautiful building of our campus is newly constructed library building. Lecture theatre is also a good building. There are 3 cricket grounds, 1 football ground and courts of all other sports. Overall Infrastructure is good.
 

Campus Rating
There are 16-20 clubs in the different directions. I am an active member of Institution's Innovation club. There are 2 fests of our college one cultural fest Utkarsh and other Technical fest TechNiti. I am average in academic. I have interest in innovation and business.

    Overall Rating
    This was the best institute and branch according to my JEE score. As it is a central government institute, it provides a vast range of placement opportunities and internships. The campus is decent with a lot of greenery. For first year students, the curriculum is very tight and hostel timings are very strict. Hostels are very good and provide all the necessary amenities.   • NIT, Jalandhar : Better Than My Expectations

    Earlier, I was not about to take admission here but as the situations changed after my JEE Mains result, this institute was offering me the best I could get based on my rank, Information Technology. I searched about this institute and got mixed reviews. Somehow I finally decided to take admission here.     As it is a NIT, I joined the Institute for its name. My experience at this Institute is awesome. It consists of well qualified facility that has studied from IIT.
