I joined MCC in 1st PUC and now I am in my degree’s 3rd year. It has been quite a journey. The social atmosphere at MCC is very welcoming and diverse. It allows all students from various backgrounds to connect and collaborate. MCC gives a large opportunity in associations like Media Club, Drama club, literary Club & Fashion association. There are many associations for respective courses. I chose MCC (Mount Carmel College) because MCC fits best in both academics and co curricular activities. The location of MCC is quite feasible too.

The course Communication studies focuses and offers introduction to media theory, film, designing, literature, economics, journalism, sound design, TV, radio, documentary, narratives in cinema and so much more. While I had applied to another college, I knew I was aiming for MCC for pursuing B.A in communication studies. Students must have completed 10+2 education from a recognized board. A minimum of 60-70% in 12th grade is required to get admission here. There is an entrance exam followed by an interview for my course. Motive: The curriculum of this course at MCC is very well structured. The staff is understanding and pushes you & prepares you for the real world outside.

The faculty members are very well off. They have done their Ph.D’s and have an experience of 15-16 years. They are very professional and knowledgeable. There are guest lecturers organised where the guests are invited for a few subject and programs. Professional guest lecturers who have been worked in the industry and abroad. The background of our lecturers is quite fascinating. They are quite well educated. Style of teaching: every professor has a different style of teaching. Some do oral reading and ask for students to read a particular novel for group discussions. While some teach in depth and project the teachings. Some other teachers ask for presentations.

Yes, there is a placement cell in Mount Carmel. The placements cell is very helpful. Many of my seniors have been placed in various renowned organisations. MCC has strong connections with the industry. Times of India, Zee and Viacom18 were few of the placements for Media Studies.

I'm not a hosteller so, I have no idea.

Mount Carmel is located in the heart of Bangalore city. It has well maintained gardens, spacious classrooms with modern interiors and smart boards, projectors, etc. It is well equipped in terms of equipments required like for recording, Apple macs for editing, Mics, etc. Computer labs and science labs allow students to conduct practical experiments with ease. Library is stocked with thousands of books and journals. It also gives access to digital books on JSTOR and NLIST. MCC has a basket ball court that is well known because of popular MCC girls basket ball team.

Campus life is dynamic, well rounded blend of academics, extracurricular activities and social engagements. It has clubs like Drama club, fashion club, design club, management club, social media club, cultural club, etc. MCC is known for its annual cultural fests like CULAH! It is music and dance festival r\that is attended by other students in Bangalore. There are tech fests and workshops organised too. The cafeteria is a social hub and it provides affordable and hygienic food.
