At the time of my preparation, I used to explore many campuses of IITs and many other institutes and including this institute and I felt that the amenities provided in this Institute are top level as it is rightly considered as the top private Engineering institute in India. I chose this institute over other institutes because I was getting my preferred branch in this institute as compared to other institutes and it is a very good place for budding entrepreneurs and also people who want to continue their higher study abroad or want to prepare for the civil services examinations.

I am enrolled in Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) specializing in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in BITS Pilani. The eligibility criteria for any of the branch in the BITS campuses is clearing the Engineering Exam BITSAT which consists of subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Mental Ability. For the first-degree programs, candidates should have passed the 12th examination with PCM subjects. Admissions are held purely based on merit and the branches like Computer Science and Electronics and Communication Engineering are given higher preference or have higher marks cutoff as compared to branches like Chemical and Civil. I enrolled in EEE branch because I had an interest in this field and wanted to pursue it.

The faculty members teaching the students are highly qualified and are very professional. They are experts in their own field and many of our professors are doing research in numerous fields including Power Systems, Microelectronics, Biology, Chemistry and various other subjects. Our faculty hails from various part of India but the way they teach is amazing and the students are highly positive about their teaching methods and pedagogy.

Yes, we have a dedicated Placement Cell at our institute. It helps the students immensely with their placements. Placement Cell guides the students through the practice school, summer internship and final placements. Placement Cell invites various companies to attend the placement season.

The hostel life is mediocre. There are around 8 boys’ hostel and 1 girls’ hostel inside the campus. Students are given double occupancy rooms in the first and second years and single occupancy rooms in third and fourth year. The hostel rooms are spacious but during the time of summers, there is a problem of many insects, due to which there is a regular fumigation happening in the hostel. There is 1 mess common for 2 hostels. The mess food is also sufficient. There are 2 common grounds for one hostel where there are badminton courts, basketball courts or volleyball courts and students can spend some time there.

Our campus is spread on a land of 328 acres, and it is located in a remote town Pilani which is secluded from any major city like Delhi or Jaipur, but all the facilities are present inside the campus ranging from various food outlets to medical rooms to convenience store. Our campus has the famous clock tower situated just above the main auditorium, and we have a Saraswati temple just facing the clock tower in the opposite side of the campus. We also have a Student Activity Centre where students can play indoor sports like table tennis, badminton and we also have a fitness room for gym.

The campus life at BITS is awesome and you can have a very wholesome experience here. The number of students coming per year is almost 5000 and the quality of students coming is very high as the people around you will be like-minded as you and you will gain a very good experience with them. There are clubs for almost everything here ranging from Dance Club, Music Club to Entrepreneurship Cell and Academic Cell. We majorly have 3 fests, Oasis, Apogee, and BOSM. BOSM is the Sports Fest where various institutes participate from all over India and compete in various sports. Apogee is the Technical Fest where various technical and non-technical events take place with various amounts of cash prizes. Oasis is the Cultural Fest where institutes from all over India come and attend the fest to participate in various culturally enriched competitions and celebrity music nights are also organised.
