My Thoughts on IITDM, Kurnool

Overall Rating
As I am from the neighboring state Telangana, I felt that this institute is near which was one of the reason to join this institute. Another reason was to pursue the field of my interest which is Computer Science and I got AI&DS branch. As this institute is of national importance, everything is monitored by the ministry of education.
 

Academics Rating
There are three courses offered here. They are B.Tech (CSE, AI&DS, ECE, and Mechanical) M.Tech (CSE, AI &DS, ECE, and Mechanical) and PhD. The entry requirements of B.Tech are through JEE Mains which is conducted every year by the NTA. The entry for M.Tech is through GATE.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty is highly qualified. Everyone holds a PhD degree. And has very good experience. Everyone has been completed their PhD from IIT. They try to remain friendly with students. All professors have done projects worth more a Crore.
 

Placement Rating
Our campus holds a separate placement body under the guidance of a faculty in charge. They try to bring good companies that offer decent CTA. We are frequently updates on LinkedIn about their achievements.
 

Hostel Rating
We have 4 residential facilities, 3 for boys and 1 for girls. We also have washing machine which can be accessed by the student by paying around ₹50 for one round. There are solar water heaters installed above the hostel. The security in the hostel is maintained 24/7 through guards and cameras. Mess is a bit far away from the boy’s hostel but is near to girl’s hostel. We have separate meeting area for boys and girls and separate meeting area for juniors.
 

Infrastructure Rating
We also have a sports arena, where we can play football, cricket, basketball, tennis, table tennis and badminton, volleyball, throw ball and kabaddi. There are two academic blocks, one for juniors and others for seniors, There are dedicated AI & DS labs. We also have a Samsung innovation lab sponsored by Samsung. There is a separate workshop for Mechanical department. There are good computers with dedicated GPU in the computer labs.
 

Campus Rating
I would like to say that campus life is average here as the summers are very hot in the institute but rainy seasons do provide the soothing environment. There is no interaction with the outsiders so they there is no crowd problems. There a many clubs in our institute including GDSC, Astronomy club, Film and media club, photography club, and many more. We have our own fest known as ‘Solasta’, which is held in February every year as well as ‘Fusion’ (which is basically a welcome fest for juniors).

    I choose this Institute over other Institutes due to good environment (situated at top of a hill). They provide particular branches for Artificial intelligence and data science. These are specializations in Computer Science. I got 32,573 rank in JEE Mains. Currently I am studying in this Institute in Artificial intelligence and data science branch.
