Jadavpur University has quite vibrant and lively campus. The students are very helpful. The faculty is approachable and friendly. The support staff is equally understanding and co-operative. There are multiple extracurricular activities to choose from, with a minimal registration fee paid only once at the time of registration ranging from 5 INR to 20 INR, depending on the club chosen by the student. These clubs have annual and recurring workshops and friendly competitions in order to keep the students engaged and entertained while being competitive and occupied. The canteens are open during the official working hours with the condition being great and the food being quite good. A number of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are available at the canteens for the students to choose from.

Bachelor's in Comparative Literature (Hons.) is a three year course for anyone who is applying for Bachelor's degree. The eligibility criteria are always updated as per the requirement on the website of the University before their admission procedure starts every year. Essentially, students must have English as a compulsory subject in their 10+2 with at least 60% marks in English and the other language while a minimum of 55% as a mandatory aggregate. The admission fee is 1235 INR paid during the admission while the annual fee is 950 INR paid from the second year; i.e. payable at the start of the second year, and third year. During the admission the students are supposed to bring their Aadhaar cards, two passport size photographs, original mark sheets of 10th and 12th grade along with the original admit cards of 10th and 12th grade. A student enrolling for this course must be prepared to study the literatures from across the world and build a habit of reading story books, poetry and news of the world. The students are expected to be updated about not only current affairs to understand the modern literary conditions but also have an analytical idea of the world news.

The faculty consists of professors, assistant professors, and research scholars. Each of the professors is assigned to teach coursed that they are specialized in. Audio-visual aids and textual contents are used to teach the class. All the study materials are provided beforehand by the professors through mail. Every professor has their unique way of teaching. Every student is expected to have gone through the study material before the lecture for better understanding and interactive sessions.

There is a placement cell in Jadavpur University. Every batch is required to submit their marksheet and progress reports to this cell in order to search for better opportunities. Companies like SVF, Telegraph and Ananda Bazaar often give internship opportunities as well throughout the year.

There are separate buildings for every department. There are bathrooms in every floor of every building open to everyone. There are suitable amenities available for hygiene and health. Every office has a first aid box for primary care. There are pharmacies around the campus where primary medication and healthcare is provided. There are stationary stores where Xerox facilities are available. The canteens are hygienic and the food is commendable. The buildings are quite clean and tidy. The libraries tend to have all the books needed for the duration of every course along with additional reading materials and preparatory materials.

The campus is always buzzing. There are workshops, conferences, festivals, carnivals and talk sessions organized by various departments and clubs throughout the year. There are multiple fests organized by the student union association of each department (the Arts, the Science and the Engineering). These fests have various friendly competitions ranging from inter-department to inter-university. Renowned artists are invited from across fields like cinema, literature and music to talk or perform at these fests. The faculty highly appreciates students taking active part in this competition. Each extracurricular activity club also organizes their events like workshops, meets and competitions. This keeps the students engaged in meaningful self development and in entertainment.
