Review on IIT, Kharagpur.

Overall Rating
IIT Kharagpur is a 200 acre huge campus in a small town, Kharagpur, WB. The closest city is Kolkata. The campus is lush green, halls of residence are quite big and a total of 10,000+ students live inside the campus. The placements are good. Campus recruitment happens every year in large number and the students are hired from all the departments. Consulting culture in KGP is quite good and every year people get recruited in the Big 4 consulting giants.
 

Academics Rating
The professors are quite good and the academics are easy. You can score decent grades studying just for a day. There are regular class tests and assignments conducted that keep us engaged. However there are some professors who are strict and students have to follow their terms.
 

Faculty Rating
Most of the faculties are MS, PHD from United States or other foreign Universities. Some have completed their entire education from IIT Kharagpur itself and they are professors now. Most of them are well qualified and give letter of recommendations to people who are good in their fields. Their connections help brilliant students earn opportunities every year.
 

Placement Rating
The Career Development Centre (CDC) is responsible for getting people placed. The committee has several representatives from all the departments. Placecomm coordinator is a very important post as he / she handles all the work.
 

Hostel Rating
There are 27 halls of residences currently and some of them are new. It is fully furnished and is in very good condition. Some of the older halls are also renovated and have basic amenities & amazing facilities. We have grounds for different sports in each hall. There is a music room for practicing music and a common room for gatherings.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is spread in 200 acres and it has a lush green area. We have 20 departments, 27 halls, Roy technology hospital and restaurants like dominos, Calcutta 64, cafe coffee day and others. There is new construction going on from about a year.
 

Campus Rating
The overall life in campus is interesting. There are many fests like Spring Fest, Kshitij, Shaurya, GES, SPIC Macay, etc. Most of them happen in the autumn semester and Spring Fest attracts an audience of around 80000+ people.

  • Inside life at IIT Kharagpur
     

    Overall Rating
    IIT Kharagpur in my opinion is most known and loved for its amazing campus life. Build around two thousand acres with a lush green pollution free campus, makes it a great place for night outs and general roaming around with friends. IITs are also known to have one of the best educations in India, so it was a no barrier for me to take this course at IIT Kharagpur.     First of all I like my college because of its infrastructure. IIT Kharagpur is in 2100 acre that allows us to explore as many things inside the campus. One thing that made me to choose IIT Kharagpur as my college is its brand value. IIT Kharagpur comes in top 5 colleges of India because of that so many companies visit the college for offering job opportunities.     Overall Rating
    It is the biggest IIT, The IIT Kharagpur. Top fifth IIT in India. And I am getting electronics branch in IIT Kharagpur. It is my best option that I am getting in top 7 IITs. And also the statistics for my college, placement offers, and internship opportunities are very good.     I chose IIT Kharagpur because it is one of the top engineering Institute in our country. IIT Kharagpur is known for its research opportunities and its well designed academics.
