Hindu College B.A Review By Pooja Yadav

Hindu College and its 125 years legacy make it one of oldest Colleges of India. This college provides a vibrant diversity and culture for students who want exposure and opportunities to enhance their overall development while competing with top students of India. I am from B.A Economics (Hons.) first year and my overall experience is awesome and wonderful; however, there are some critics that I feel college needs to work.

You need to be good in Maths to opt for Economics Hons. Otherwise, you are going to regret because 80% of the syllabus is Maths. Economics Hons. is the most reputed and decent course. Many Humanities students take Economics Hons. at Graduation level, so I would advise to those students to be updated with the trends in Economics and Business knowledge otherwise it’s going to be difficult to be part of Commerce Oriented societies.

Facilities are average. Some faculties are interactive but only to the classrooms. Our MME teacher is good but really strict about entering late into the class and using phones during the lectures; but I think this strictness is good so as to keep the students disciplined.

Our library is really good and fully equipped with AC. Classrooms of the old Academic Block doesn't have proper seat according to the strength of the class. New Academic Block has better infrastructure, but we don't have AC there. Labs for Science students are equipped. We have basketball and volleyball court. Only professional students are allowed in sports complex. Old and new canteens both have really nice and affordable food, but we don't have separate vegetarian and non-vegetarian canteens.

College provides enormous opportunities to engage with other colleges of Delhi University. We have so many societies but it's not easy to be part of it. Commerce Oriented societies look for students who have profound knowledge and specific skills. If anyone wants to be part of Hindu societies, they must have basic skills like graphics designing, communication and computer skills. You will find very supportive seniors who will guide you throughout the journey. Environment is peaceful in Hindu College.
