IMS Ghaziabad University Courses Campus BJMC Review By Atamaj Solanki

I chose this university because I wanted to get into a university that has good placement. I am in my second year of Journalism course, and my overall experience at this university until now has been good and all the other things including the hostel, recreational activities have been good. I think if you're someone who wants to join Journalism course and is also a local of Ghaziabad then it is a good choice.

There aren’t such specific entry requirements for this course, you just have to get 75% in your 12th standard, and pass an interview to get into the university. However, you will have to fill an application form that needs fees which usually vary every year or according to the categories. The main motive for enrolling in this particular program was because I am passionate about video editing and then amazing teaching style of our faculty made me want to learn more about Journalism.

The faculty of our course is very understanding and supportive. They will make sure to help you in any problem and introduce new learning styles and different activities for the subject to make you understand it better. Our faculty even has mentoring sessions, in order to solve student's problem. Each faculty has their own unique style of teaching. They all hold PhD degrees and have good number of experience years devoted to their particular program. They even have good connections with other media organizations that might also help you get internships and help you during media visits.

Yes, my university does have a placement cell but it usually offers a major amount of placements to Management students. For Journalism, you get placements but they aren't very useful as of what I have heard from my seniors, only companies with majors like content writing, advertisement, video editing, and social media come and hire students. Companies like AajTak, ABP news, Zee News, etc. do come but hardly hire students.

Yes, we have good residential facilities at our university for girls and boys separately. We have proper and well maintained hygienic hostel rooms. They have air-conditioned rooms and proper ventilation is available. A facility room contains cooking equipment along with laundry. Complaints are heard and immediately resolved. The mess food is also good and they also provide fasting food or meals for specials occasions. They have canteen, gym and other such facilities for recreational activities.

The infrastructure for our university is good and well kept. They have library, digital library, canteen, basketball court and terrace. The building has four floors where other courses have classes and washrooms. There are two halls; one is seminar hall for smaller events and other is an auditorium room. Other amenities like common rooms, games rooms’ and the classrooms are well equipped with audio-visual aids, and air conditioners.

The campus life is good. We have many events like Pulse, Abhivyakti and other departmental events. It has more than 10 clubs for each of other subjects that interest students. The crowd is okay. The other engagement activities that happen are usually games and Nukkad Natak.
