My Experience in IGDTUW

Overall Rating
I have spent more than a year IGDTUW and here is my review of my experience in the university so far. This university comes under government of NCT of Delhi, located in the center of Delhi near Kashmere Gate. It is women's university and offers various courses like B.Tech, BBA, MBA, MCA and M.Tech. This university is famous for its outstanding placement records.
 

Academics Rating
Academically, it is considered to be one of India's top technical universities so it is not simple to get into IGDTUW. For B.Tech, one has to be amongst top 5% performers in JEE Mains, and for other courses too, it is hard to get in. For B. Tech, the university offers branches like CSE, CSE-AI, ECE, ECE-AI, AI-ML, and MAE. The curriculum of the university is updated. It’s not really hard or rigorous for all branches but for branches like MAE (Mechanical and Automation), it is hard and needs to be updated.
 

Faculty Rating
The university has decently qualified faculty members. It also has a big number of guest/visiting faculties. Some faculties are highly qualified with experience of teaching in prestigious institutes of India and abroad, except few who are teaching for the first time. Largely the professors are supportive and co-operative but there are some professors who need to sharpen their teaching skills.
 

Placement Rating
The university has its own placement cell, known as Training and Placement cell (TnP) IGDTUW. The TnP cell works really hard and they do manage to attract many big companies from the industry to the university. For B.Tech, the average package is very good of more than 20 LPA and highest package offered was 1.2 CPA this year. They also claim to give 100% placement.
 

Hostel Rating
The university does have two residential hostels in the campus premises with the capacity of around 600 students in total. Due to less availability of hostel seats, the hostels are given to candidates who are not from NCR region. The hostel does offer basic facilities. Since it is a very old campus building so it may not look very at par with other hostels. The hostel’s cultural committee keeps organizing events and celebrations.
 

Infrastructure Rating
As mentioned, the campus is a very old, thus there are limitations to the infrastructure of university. The campus is built in around 60 acres of land. The basic facilities like library, academic block, computer center and academic building are available. Overall, the campus area seems small but it is sufficient.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life seems happening. The clubs and societies are very active. They seem to be conducting events inside as well as outside the university from time to time. Also, there are university fests like cultural fest, literary fest, sports fest, etc. All these activities are largely encouraged by the professors and management of the university.

    This university is well- known for its placements and good academic life. I've been in this university for a year now and so far it is very encouraging academically. Sometimes the academic pressure gets stressful but that happens in every university at some point. The campus is a bit small (it is also shared) but it is active and always bustling....     The overall experience at the institute is quite good and satisfactory. Placement was definitely one of the main reasons why I chose this college. If you want to go with a Delhi based college then definitely you can choose this. Choosing computer science related branch is more beneficial as placement ratio is always high there....     Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women is a dream university of many students. The highest package of placement drive 2024 was 1 CPA. I'm enrolled in MBA course. I can say that although it is recently added course (2020), the curriculum is of top quality.... Read Full Review
