Government Doon Medical College MBBS Review By Shivansh Kala

The college is situated in Dehradun capital of the Utrakhand state. Academic session started in 2016 and its 4 batches have passed from the college recently. Spread in approximately 12 acres of land and is affiliated with the Main hospital at dehradun. The main hospital is 4 Km away from the hostel and bus service is available.

The college provides MBBS and nursing course to the students. The only possible way to get into the college is to appear in NEET and get enough marks to get the seat. Being college at capital city the cut offs are getting higher by each passing year. MBBS being one of the most elite courses available right now, the college provides every possible resources so that a student can become a fine doctor.

The faculty is divided into clinical and non clinical ones which is a thing in MEDICAL colleges. The clinical ones being the ones who are fully fledged doctor and work at hospital. The College provides a team of highly capable and esteemed set of teachers. Almost everyone is well known in the entire state and some even beyond that. The teachers usually teach via presentations and workups on patients.

Placement is not guaranteed at it is not part of college's duty. The previous batches did get the facility of bond system with the state government but after 2019 that system was shut.

Both boys and girls hostel and 6 and 5 storey building with lifts. It is well planned and is does have lift system. The college administration charges about 6K per year for hostel. We have a football ground, Basketball court, volleyball court, 2-2-3 badminton courts, etc. Inside the hostel there is a recreational room with TV and TT table, carom table, etc.

The college provides you with a 12 acres campus with library block with wifi service and reading room space. Since the college is recently build the infrastructure is really good. Auditorium is being built and will be completed by the end of 2024. The entire college building has centralised AC and is laces with projector and advanced setup enabling best environment for study.

College campus is probably one of the most fun campus though it is compact as compared to other campus but it is cozy and once you get a hang of it you really get attached to it quickly. Various types of clubs are present be it fine arts, cultural, sports, etc. Annual fest happens in the month of October and is a huge event inviting students from all over the state. It includes a week long sports fest which runs along with arts fest both these culminating into a hug Cultural fest by the end of year making it an event to remember throughout the year.
