I am currently studying B.Tech (Information Technology) in PSG College of Technology. I choose this college because it is the top college in Tamil Nadu and one of the top colleges in India. If you want to grow your career in a right path, then this college is the best choice. This college is at the top in terms of placements, academics and faculties. One can get better knowledge, great exposure and learn something new every day.

I applied to this college via TNEA counseling. In TNEA counseling, admission is given based on the merit marks in 12th grade. Cutoff during my enrollment was 195; students with more than 195 cutoffs can get into the college easily. In the first year, the syllabus is same for the entire course. From second year onwards, the core subjects like Data Structures, DBMS, OS, and CN etc. will be taught.

The faculties are very talented and the teaching standards in our college are excellent. All the teachers are experienced and different faculties have different teaching methods like some use PPT, the other uses notes taking method, etc. Mostly all of the faculties have done completed their Masters or Doctorate. There are more than 25 faculty members in our department. From 2nd year onwards, the subjects will be taught by department faculties. In first year, there will be a common faculty.

Yes, we have placement cell. Our college is the one of the top colleges in terms of placements, which was my main reason to join the college. The placement percentage of our college is more than 90%. Almost all of the students got placed in our department. Specifically, for CSE and IT, there will be more companies visiting. In a year, there will be more than 150 companies visiting our campus. The average salary package will be around 12 LPA.

Our college is located in the center of the city which is favourable for us in many ways. Most of the colleges are located in the outer regions; that takes a lot of time to access any resources, which is certainly not the case here. But still, the college area is smaller as compared to other colleges, but the infrastructure is awesome. Our college has a separate bridge that connects the hostel and the college. There are separate blocks for each department and also each department has separate labs which help students to learn practical aspects with ease. All the students have a common block for examination.

I enjoyed my four years of college life here. Our college conducts many events wherein Intrams is the main cultural event and various prize events like Kriya, and a big college event that contains a prize pool of 10 lakhs is conducted wherein the entry fee is Rs. 200/-. Other events like Login, Srishti, and many more fun events are organised regularly. There are many clubs in our college which conducts separate events. So, there will be an event happening every week. By attending these events we make good connection with our seniors and juniors which helps us improve our communication skills and bonding with each other.
