Sri Venkateswara College B.Sc Review By Pritam Yadav

My overall experience at college is great. Our college has strong reputation, vibrant campus life, diverse student base which enabled me of learning about different and various type traditions, religion and practices. The campus has greenery all around which help creating condensate environment for learning new skills. The alumni network of college is very strong which helps in networking for students. So my overall experience at Sri Venkateswara College was great.

I have opted for Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Physics. This course covers a wide range of topics from Classical Physics to Quantum Physics. It also puts more emphasis on lab work then theoretical knowledge. An entry requirement for this course is that you have studied Physics and Mathematics in your class 12th. After that, you have to give CUET exam with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and apply for CSAS counseling process if you get good enough marks then you get selected.

All the teachers teaching us are well qualified and most of them are PhD degree holders in their respective subjects. All of them have good knowledge of the subject that they are teaching. All the teachers and lab assistants are very corporative with students and like to resolve students problem related to studies or other issues. All the teachers have very good teaching experience which helps us to understand the topics with a. ease. Regular counseling sessions with teachers are conducted where they guide us about our career opportunities and help us to cover our syllabus and with various different topics. Every teacher has a unique way of teaching where some teachers prefer traditional way like using blackboard while others prefer to teach with the help of power point presentations. Personally I think, both the ways are good.

Placements are average in our course. Let me share some companies that visited our campus for placement last year PWG India, Deloitte US, KPMG India, Tata Counseling Service and many others. The highest package offered to a student last year was 21.55 LPA and average was 5.9 LPA. Most of the students from our course prefer to do Masters and some get teaching jobs in various different coaching institutes with good amount of package.

The hostels of the college need renovation and improvement in the facilities that are provided there. However, the quality of mess food is good. The food is served thrice a day breakfast, lunch and dinner and tea is saved in evening with snacks. So mess is over all good. The library and gym facilities are also available inside hostel premises and security is also good.

Classrooms are well equipped with modern technology and teaching equipment but ACs are not there which creates problem during summer season. Libraries are well stocked with books almost 10000 plus books are available and almost all the major newspaper is also available on daily basis. The labs are equipped with state of the art equipment. Almost every Science department has its own two to three labs. The computer labs are also well equipped with new computers and air conditioners. The sports facilities are very good in our college as has its own cricket ground, football ground, lawn tennis, badminton court, tennis, chess, table tennis, basket ball court, the alumnus Rishab Pant and Ayush Badoni are players of Indian Cricket Team and Indian Premier League (IPL) players. Paralympics gold medalist in Javelin Throw Navdeep Sing is also alumni Of Sri Venkateswara College.

The campus life is great in this college. I have spent my most prestigious 4 years of my life here which I will cherish for rest of my life. There are various societies and clubs which helped to improve my personality and became a better person in life. The crowd of college is very diverse as there are students from each and every state of India and even foreign students are also there which helped to learn about their culture. Our college fest is called ‘Nexus’ which is generally organized during the month of February or March every year. It is three day event and is one of the best fest of Delhi University. The societies and clubs always try to organize engagement activities like sports week, quizzing event, freshers party, farewell party, debating events, youth election and youth parliament.
