Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration B.Com Review By Aranya Biswas

I have complicated my class 10th in my hometown, after my class 10th I have chose Commerce stream. Goenka College of Commerce is situated in Kolkata and is a famous college for Commerce graduate students, very famous and notable Economics and Commerce intellectuals are alumni of this college. My overall experience in this college is very good; the atmosphere of this college is amazing for study. It is one of the very few colleges of Northeast India where we have a placement committee for Bachelor of Commerce graduate. This is one of the very main reasons for me to choose this college. I have advice to my juniors; if you are a Commerce student then you should choose Goenka College.

Bachelor of Commerce under CBCS system under Calcutta University offered in this college. The admission process is very easy. The college offers seat by marks class 12th. The cutoff is 95 percentile for unreserved student and for SC, ST students; it is 85 to 90%.

Our faculties of this college are well educated. Some of the faculties are doing research in foreign universities. They are very experienced and friendly to the students. Most of the faculties are PhD doctorates. They always try to help the students in their fields, our professors are taking doubt solving classes at the end of the college.

After the final semester students who have secured 7.5 CGPA are able to apply for internship program. Some very famous companies like Tata, Reliance, Infosys and Microsoft came for internship program and they offer good stipend to the student.

Unfortunately, our college does not provide any hostel facilities. Although, there are some government hostels for SC & ST students in Kolkata where they can stay with a minimum rent in month.

Our college is located in Bowbazar Kolkata. The campus of our college is of moderate size. They are 4 academic blocks, two blocks are for undergraduate students and two blocks are for postgraduate students. Our college has its own library and canteen. All types of Commerce and business books are available in our library.

Our college campus life is awesome. The college student union organizes freshers every year for the students. Some notable Kolkata Bengali music bands came to perform in our college. Our college union is also interested in social activity. Nature club, Science club, Adventure club and Physics club are run by the students of the campus.
