My overall experience in my college is very good. My college "Kalyani Government Engineering College" provides a dynamic academic environment with experienced teachers. You get to join a lot of clubs and interact with the seniors. The faculty here is very much friendly with the students. Since this is a government college so the fees required is too low which is beneficial for students who have financial problems.

Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC) is affiliated to MAKAUT (Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology) and so it follows the curriculum and syllabus of MAKAUT. The question papers are published by it and also checked by the teachers chosen by it. To enter into this college you have to crack WBJEE exam and secure a nice rank and then sit for WBJEE counseling. The seats are available for only West Bengal state candidates so the aspirants would also need the domicile certificate to take admission in this college.

The faculty members are highly educated. Everyone has done Ph.D in their field. They are very friendly with the students. They help us with our studies and also guide us through different activities. They have created schedules for us which are very helpful as we can follow their teachings everyday through the schedule. They also encourage us to come to college every day.

There is a training and placement cell in our college which brings many prestigious companies to our college. Due to our placement cell many students from our college has bagged packages from big companies. In 2024 one of our seniors bagged 86 LPA in JP Morgan and also our college's average package has got up to 8 LPA this year. Our placement cell trains and encourages us to crack the interviews of dream companies like Google, Microsoft, etc. thus it really helps with the placements.

Our college also provides hostel facilities. There are different hostels for boys in first, second, third and fourth year and also for girls. Hostel allotment is done on the basis of distance of their home from the college. The food provided in the hostel is nice and the menu is decided by the students so they can discuss and set up their menu on their own. The hostels of first years are located a little far from the college to avoid any ragging and they have been provided with all the equipment of sports.

The infrastructure of this college is a bit too old but the classes are newly painted now, new books are added, new computer systems are installed and many more advancements are done. The labs are equipped with expensive machines to create the base of students studying. Also there are enormous amount of books to read related to academics as well as different topics.

The campus of my college is huge having an area of 76 acres. It is a lush green campus covered with trees, ponds and beautiful gardens. We have to take cycle to travel inside the campus. There are nearly 14-15 clubs in my college through which students can participate and interact with the seniors and learn new and different things. Clubs like Riyaaz (Music Club), Elysium (Dance Club), Dev Community and KeyGEn Coders (Coding Clubs), No Scope (Game Dev. Club), Litmus (Writing Club), etc. The fest in Kalyani Government Engineering College is the second biggest fest in whole of West Bengal during which a lot of fun activities like flashmobs, drama, dance, and hackathons take place and many more. We also have tech fest in my college in which various hackathons and robot making contests are also organised. Besides academics there are a lot of fun activities to do in here.
