IIT Bombay: One of the top Engineering Institutes in the country

Overall Rating
My experience at IIT Bombay has been nothing short of extraordinary. Beyond academics, the institute offers unparalleled opportunities in sports, cultural activities and technology, all of which are world- class. One of the key reasons I chose IIT Bombay, aside from its academic excellence, is its powerful network. The connections you build here can truly open doors and take you far. Additionally the institute boasts state of the art labs, classrooms and academic facilities that rank best in the world.
 

Academics Rating
I am currently pursuing a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering, a 4 year program. While we have mandatory core courses, there is also a considerable flexibility in choosing electives from a wide range of subjects based on our interests. Grading criteria vary depending on the course and departments. During the first year, all students have to go through the common courses but from the 2nd year onwards we delve into department specific courses.
 

Faculty Rating
The professors at IIT Bombay are among the best in their respective fields, many of whom have earned prestigious awards and are globally recognized for their research works. While most professors are approachable and create a friendly relationship with the students.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we do have a placement cell at our institute. It really helps the final year students to secure great job opportunities in the industry.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, there are 18 functional hostels in IIT Bombay. Many more are under-construction. Overall the hostel facilities are decent as compared to other engineering institutes.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure particularly the academic area is top notch, all the facilities provided and all the amenities available are very much useful to the students studying here. We have numerous labs catering to making the practical understanding of the subjects easier for the students. All the equipment used are very much above the industry standards.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life of IIT Bombay can't be described in words; it can only be felt once you come here and experience it. The cultural fests (Mood Indigo- Asia's biggest cultural fest), Techfest, E-summit, etc. All are one of the biggest fests held in the country. You will get to learn and experience a lot by being a part of these fests.
