I was very excited to join a premier institute like IITs since my JEE preparation phase. That was the time I got the exposure to study Science and Technology. After JEE Advance results JoSAA Counseling landed me to IIT Kharagpur and choosing such a renowned institute is one of the best decisions of my life. I have experienced quite a lot of things that I could never have imagined in my school days. Overall experience of this institute can't be summarized in few words. Everyday seems like a new experience altogether. Something or other keeps on happening in the campus. Fests, Workshops, Events and Involvements are the part of the vibrant campus culture.

There are no pre requisites in terms of knowledge once you have cleared JEE Advance with flying colors. It will help you to start fresh in IIT Kharagpur in academics as well. Department specific knowledge is not required. There are 53 courses and 21 departments all across the campus and you can attend lectures as per your preferences. Exams are tough but one should attend all the classes and talk to professors for any problem.

The professors are very experienced and have immense knowledge for their particular fields. They are always there for providing any academic support one needs and help students prepare for exams by sharing resources. Attending classes should be a good practice in order to ace the exams. The courses are well structured and relevant in the current scenario and market.

Yes, the Career Development Centre CDC in IIT, Kharagpur which works in order to bring companies and assist recruiters and students for a smooth placement experience. The numbers show that during the tough recession time as well, the placement cell was successful to give astonishing number of the offers were made to unique students with increasing number of companies coming for hiring.

IIT Kharagpur has very old and unique hall culture which sets it apart from other IITs. It is literally the most vibrant "HALL TEMPO" and competitions like GC General championship help students compete across various domains to make their hall superior. The facilities' are above average and mess food is good for both veg and nonveg eating people. There are also renovation activities going on and new halls are created. There are 23 hostels as of now.

The infrastructure of the institute is better than many other old institutes out there. Being the institute of national importance, the government is always keen to improve infrastructure and provide better facilities to students. The library is well equipped and the study centers like Nalande are furnished with AC and DGs all around. The amenities provided are also useful for the students and there are no such restrictions for people to hang out to helipad.

The thing I love the most about IIT Kharagpur is its huge 2100 acres campus which has so many things to offer. The Gymkhana student body, various societies, cell, clubs and hall, you can get to explore everything. No one can forget the ILLU as well, the unique way to celebrate Diwali with your new family. The memories and experiences are awesome and you should keep trying as much things as possible in order to extract maximum out of those offerings.
