My Thoughts on ICFAI University

Overall Rating
Pursuing Law was my dream and after missing out from top NLUs, my next choice was ICFAI, Dehradun and I took the admission here. Unlike many private universities, ICFAI don't have direct admissions but every single student has to go through a mandatory interview process. However, if your CLAT score is below 2000, you do get direct admissions. If you compare it with other private universities of Dehradun, ICFAI is the only university that offers placements for Law department.
 

Academics Rating
Every semester here is for just four to four and a half months as we have to go for a month long internships mandatory after every semester. It is also reviewed as what we have learned and does it align with our electives or not. So a study of some notes is unless we are prepared for real world, ICFAI doesn't give us the leverage that we command.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties at ICFAI are both as qualified and knowledgeable. They have experience at both the levels, be it Teaching or Law practice. Also, the number of faculties as we have just 50 students or less in each class and still around 8-10 faculties is what we have per semester. So students can't escape as faculties may be strict but make sure that we grow along with the studies.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, Law department of the university has a placement cell to die for. As soon as the placements start, student’s CV is forwarded. Overall, percentage of students getting placed is less but at least one gets a chance to claim it.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels are there and lot of students stay in the hostel. I learnt that the food served is average at the hostels and therefore I chose to stay in a PG nearby rather than the hostels.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Campus is quite big, like it's around 60 acres or a little less but the facilities here are incomparable. A sports complex is equipped with badminton and tennis courts. One sport in which ICFAI has excelled is the football team as in international university football tournaments; ICFAI has won the maximum trophies. There's one canteen.
 

Campus Rating
Clubs and societies are in abundance. Each department has their events like last year our department event named ‘Lamour’ which is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm. Likewise most department students are given a free hand to host events by arranging and managing everything on their own.

    University life is pretty normal it’s good. Campus is situated in foothills of Mussoorie. You can see nice view during monsoon. The faculty is good. University is very particular about attendance. Each student needs to maintain 75% attendance.... Read Full Review

    The university is good. Overall facilities are provided like hostel with good rooms and food, Wi-Fi, canteen and library. Overall the staff is good. Exams are conducted on time.
