Even though my experience at NIT Raipur was cut short by 1.5 years due to Covid-19, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the campus. The students and teachers were lovely, and made the experience really delightful. I had fun in learning from my professors and was offered a great career opportunity at campus placement. Living in hostel with my friends was awesome and institute fests were truly a fun and enjoyable experience. I got to learn so much and grow in those years that it shaped who I am as a person now. The main reason for choosing this institute was the placement cell and I believe if you are looking for that this is a really good option to go for.

I joined Electronics and Communication branch in the year 2017. If you are looking for good faculty and good placement this is the institute you can choose. Try to choose technical courses because there are more career opportunities available for that at NIT Raipur. My rank in IIT Jee Mains was 19504 allowing me a seat in Electronics course. If you are looking for a seat in CSE and IT branch, you need to score higher than that. Selecting Electronics and Communication course allowed me to sit for both core and technical companies.

For the first year, students of all branches share some subjects and have common faculty. The first year faculty members are generally very nice, they help in understanding the subjects, courses, and the labs are really fun. When you move to specific department the same faculty member will be teaching you various subjects and labs. I have encountered some of the best teachers of my life in here who made me appreciate and love my chosen branch even more, increasing my interest in the subject. Unfortunately there are always 1 or 2 faculty sometimes temporary - sometimes permanent that are difficult to learn from.

NIT Raipur was not initially a national institute, it was converted later in 2000s. As a result in comparison to other NIT's and IIT's its infrastructure is very mild. The campus has only one building that includes classrooms, labs, library, auditorium, workshops, and others areas available for all branches. 1st year students share labs whereas labs for core subjects are present in specific branch location areas.

Yes, NIT Raipur provides residential facilities for its students; there are girls and boys hostels located inside the campus. There are two girls hostel available in the campus, one hostel is only available for the 1st year students whereas the second hostel accommodates 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students. For the first year the seat is given to who visits first and books the room while for the next year the seat allocation is based on student's grades. Also, there is seat reservation for some students based on the cast. Girls hostel has good food facilities, water machine, and hygiene maintenance. Boys hostel condition is not that good and a large parts of total boys strength stay out of campus due to seat unavailability.

The campus life at NIT Raipur is good and enjoyable. The institute has various committees and clubs that students can join as per their interest. All these clubs and committees are run by students who arrange workshops and functions. One specific faculty is responsible for each club and committee. Technical and cultural fests are two of the biggest fests that continue for multiple days and include various events arranged all over the campus. Many festivals are celebrated at campus, for me most memorable will always be Navratri.
