Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata has retained its number 1 rank as the best private institute in West Bengal in the last few years. It is well known among the people and students from all over the country and they come here to pursue B.Tech. There are many other courses like Law, BCA, BBA, etc. The growth of the institute overall in last few years is surreal. It focuses on the development of the student not only academically but also personality.

Person from any corner of the country can take admission in this institute through the state examination called West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) or the score from JEE Mains. For the B.Tech course, the eligibility criterion is just having 60% score in PCM and English. The institute provides almost all the departments for studies like CSE, ECE, IN, CIVIL, Mechanical and Biotechnology. For the last few years the institute has also added the courses of specialized CSE branches like AI-ML, IOT-Cyber Security & Block Chain Technology, CSE, Business System, and Data Science. As a student, I can suggest you that you can join the core branches as they give decent experience both theoretically and practically.

The faculties are best among all the institutes here. They never miss out helping the students either academically or any other problems all can share everything from them. All the teachers are from decent institutes and have 10-15 years of teaching experience. Though, they can improve their teaching by using universal teaching language. But overall faculty teaches us well and makes their efforts to make the students learn.

Definitely, the institute has a placement cell. They help the students grab the opportunities of internships. They also keep students updated of the information regarding latest internship and job openings. Every year, many students get to go to the USA for internship. Since last 2-3 years (after Covid), about 100-150 companies visit the campus for recruitment, providing average CTC of 5-7 LPA. The on-campus highest package was 16 LPA for the batch 2020-2024 and off-campus was 1.2 CPA by a student of CSE. It was 58 LPA for the batch 2019-2023. The overall placement percentage is about 85%.

Yes, the institute provides the accommodation facilities to the boys and girls separately. Though, the management really needs to increase the size of boys’ hostel. For girls, there are 6-7 hostels inside the campus, charging about 8-9 thousand per student including room and mess fee. The food of the mess is also good. They get different varieties of food 3-4 times a day. There are AC rooms also which must be booked earlier.

The institute campus is spread across a decent area of 10 acre consisting of multiple other colleges and institutes of Heritage group. The institute is well facilitated with smart classrooms having ACs, Smart boards. The institute has a very good canteen (there are 3 canteens in the institute). The institute is well equipped with labs of every subject. The labs are well equipped with new technologies new computers, and new instruments, Machines.

The campus life at the institute is average. There are different clubs for dance, singing, sports, robotics, crafts, etc. All these clubs are well active and organize many events throughout the year. The drama club of the institute is one of the best in the state. It has won the 1st prize in IIT Kharagpur. After pandemic, first fest is being organized in the institute after 5 years in September 2024 that will host many events and activities like Dancing, Singing, Sports, Fashion, etc.
