IIITB is backed by many giant companies like TCS, Infosys, and Coforge. Besides them, the Government of Karnataka too has invested heavily, and we had many chief guests from the state cabinet during two years. The college boasts a coding environment like no others. The best part was that even if you have failed to pick up from your grad college, you can start from scratch as there are many extra classes conducted for the students who need extra help. If you are someone who wants to do M.Tech in CSE, then IIITB is the place as there’s nothing better than IIITB.

One has to be outrageous as studies will never end. 8-10 hours classes plus 4-6 hours of self-study at labs was compulsory otherwise, clearing exams can be really tough. Once you mend yourself at the culture of IIITB, it all becomes a routine, and that is where the institute has done exceedingly well. Lesser number of subjects but deep knowledge of each subject was provided as getting clearance in practicals and theory was tough. I wasn’t a nerd but one has to be at IIITB as there’s no other way out.

Exceptional, outstanding or whatever adjectives come to your mind, you can add them. IIITB faculty will make you realize why Bangalore is rated as the hub of best teachers in the country. All of them vastly experienced teaching, and almost all had an experience of working in the corporate sector. They knew industrial demands, and hence they made us prepare accordingly. I was pushed to the limits and beyond if I may say that. All thanks to the faculty for making us toil as hard as possible and made us stronger and better engineers ready to enter the spotlight.

When it comes to CSE, everyone thinks of TCS, Infosys or a Wipro but among the prominent recruiters, there were many other companies like OLA, Fintech, and Maddison, among others who took students and offered them jobs worth 10LPA and above. We were sent for proper training before the third semester, and working alongside the best engineers was an experience in itself. We did a demo of placements before the placements happened and on campus placements of IIITB is undoubtedly the best among engineering colleges of the city. One can argue but can’t match the figures that IIITB can boast.

The boys' hostel and girls' hostel were inside the campus, and mind you, the kind of life we led at the hostel was better than what we are leading after doing engineering. Excellent rooms, hygienic food, and what facilities. Hostel had a playing area and common room, which always boasted innovations as students would showcase their ideas and skills in the common room. Getting nice feedback from seniors was always appreciated, and hostel life was quality. I enjoyed every second I spent at IIITB hostels and wished I could live a few more years there as I was not done after two years. I definitely wanted some more.

Electronic City is also the IT hub of Bangalore city. Yes, it was 2 hours drive from the airport and almost the same from the railway station. The metro work is still in progress but who cared as I stayed inside the campus for most part of my M. Tech. The campus is not huge but has a scenic beauty with gardens, trees, and the best roads that you can find inside a campus. Buildings were like IT offices and roads with parking next to them gave it a complete corporate look. The college library and most importantly the computer lab were out of the world. One can complain about anything about the institute, but almost all the students were on the same page when it comes to infrastructure.

Campus Life was full of surprises as we used to have guests at college more often than not. Students had to perform on every single event as events were the core part of our program. Interacting with faculty and seniors was always lovely to grasp new things. The college canteen coffee’s with a piece of bread, and unlimited chat was the best time pass at the college. Technical events helped us give presentations, rectify our mistakes, and prepare for the next. I wish I could go on and on, but there’s not much headroom left. I had fun and can proudly say that I am an engineer with purpose because of IIITB.
