Jadavpur University stands as the 4th best college, nationwide. So naturally that keeps it up on a high pedestal. But this rank is not for nothing. The faculty members, the facilities available, and a lush green campus made this possible. One should opt for this university as it encourages liberal thinking, and creativity. Jadavpur University shows path to successful protests and meaningful results from it. It incorporates politics into the lives of individuals as one should realize nothing can really be apolitical.

Unlike most colleges of our state, Jadavpur University has an entrance exam. The entrance exam is of quite high standard and only the best can crack it. One has to pass their 10+2 exams in order to be eligible for the entrance exams. Every course offers one exam and for one to take admission, they must meet the cut off for the Merit list.

One of the best aspects of this university is its faculty. The professors are masters in their respective fields. They are helpful and supportive and are eager to teach what they know. They are immensely successful in their life but at the same time they are the most humble, down to earth people one can ever meet. While some are strict and rigid, most of them are friendly and flexible. They do not force upon us their point of views, instead encourages us to think outside the box. They use slides and other involving form of media to teach us, the grateful students.

Our university is one of the best for placements. There has been a 97% success rate of campus interview. The highest received package is of 94 LPA. Both national and international companies offer jobs at our university. The internship facility is also great and most companies offer permanent jobs at the end of it.

The hostel facilities are better than most. As a non-hostel resident, every time I have visited the hostel with my hostel resident friends, I have been welcomed with the same warmth. The problem I have faced is that of power shortage, but even that is solved in a few hours. The food is exceptionally good and so are the washrooms. The hostel life is of fun and joy.

The university is known for its infrastructure. The huge campus has a large number of departments, a central library which has over 10,000 books, centers for disability studies and many other important academic buildings. There are also canteens available which provide good food at a pocket friendly rate and ATM which run all day all year. Thus, the presence of amenities has made the university life easier.

The campus life is heavenly. There is so much joy and laughter always going around that one will feel at home in no time. The students are friendly and accepting, no one feels left out. Another great aspect is the extracurricular activities provided. There are a number of clubs and forums for people of different interests. One can join more than one club, there are no restrictions there. The fests are also thoroughly enjoyable. Overall it is a great campus life.
