DAVIET is a reputed Institute in Jalandhar. Its fee structure is affordable as compared to other engineering colleges. My overall experience here has been decent till date.

The courses are diverse and include all types of specialisations including Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Social Science, and many more. It includes many practical subjects for thorough understanding and hands-on and project-based learning. It also emphasises on teaching programming languages like Python, C, C++, etc. For admission, you must be 10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry and Maths with at least 45% marks or you must clear JEE Mains. You can fill the application form from the website of institute, and then the entire documents verification takes place along with fee payment. If you want to become an Engineer, get a high paying job, and interested in Technology and Programming, then you must consider taking admission to this institute.

The faculty present in the college is well experienced, with some teachers having 20 years of teaching experience and some are also new. Many faculty members are Ph.D holders. The faculties here are very helpful in times of need. They guide the students for their career growth. Their teaching style is pretty good and easy to understand. Some prefer to teach using presentations while some teach on blackboard. Some teachers also give extra notes for exams.

Yes, we have a Training, Placement and Entrepreneurship Cell at our college which is active and help students in acquiring internships and jobs. They guide the students who want to start their own startup.

We have hostel facilities in our college. There is total 3 hostels. There’s one girls’ hostel and 2 boys’ hostel. Hostel rooms are available in different options like individual, double sharing and triple sharing rooms with and without AC. But the cost is little high. The infrastructure of hostels is little old, and the rooms are small for sharing so it can get a bit congested. Some recreational activities are held for the hostel residents from time to time. A mess hall is available in each hostel.

The campus consists of 4 academic blocks which have a ground floor, 1st floor, and 2nd floor. The names of the blocks are Core Block, Undergraduate Block, Postgraduate Block, etc. There is a library building near the Core Block which contains many books of different subjects. There is also a PNB bank and ATM in the college near Library. There are many Computer labs of different domains in the academic blocks and other subjects’ labs are also present. There is a seminar hall, C-hall, and auditorium present in college for hosting events, meets and guest lectures. There is no air conditioning in classrooms. There is a blackboard and a projector in every classroom.

Overall, campus life at DAVIET is average. The campus is not too large. Most of the students are local. There are many active clubs and societies (cultural, technical, sports) which are run by the students. The names of the clubs are dance club, literature club, music club, photography and editing club, acting club, cricket, basketball, volleyball, tennis, etc. Some fests held in college are Technical Fest, Youth Fest, Talent Hunt for fresher’s, etc.
