A candid review on Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Chandigarh

Overall Rating
This college offers Hons. Degree and a range of Graduate and Postgraduate courses in different subjects. This college has many clubs and organise extracurricular activities. Resources like library and labs are good here. It's a well renowned institute known for its focus on academic excellence. Faculty of this college is good.
 

Academics Rating
I opted for B.A English (Hons.). I enrolled in this course because I think English is a subject in which you can travel through time and human mind. Anyone who has scored well in their 1st year can opt for this course in their 2nd year. The teachers provide brief notes to the students.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty of English is great here. They all are expert in literature, language and critical theories. They stay updated with contemporary works and critical interpretation. They teach in a very fun way but sometimes they only focus on theoretical knowledge rather than practical. They also conduct workshops on literature from time to time.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, the college has a placement cell and offers placement opportunities.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, we have two hostels in our campus. The hostels offer different facilities such as gym, cyber room, common room, study room, and library. Food served here is fine but there’s less variety in meals.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college has two different blocks; one is IT block and another one is Arts and Science block. Both the blocks have access to washrooms and water cooler. Arts and Science block includes gym and library facilities, whereas IT block includes placement cell’s room. Canteen facility is also available in this college. Quality of food in our canteen is good, and they provide different varieties of food.
 

Campus Rating
Crowd is decent. They are welcoming and friendly. There are different clubs in my college such as Wisdom Tree Club, Personality Development Club, and Environment Club. This college offers NSS and NCC facilities as well for the development of students. Events are not frequently organised but still are enjoyable.

    Overall Rating
    Our College offers wide range of opportunities for students studying in any stream. It offers variety of courses including add-on courses and others which are beneficial for the students. Also, not only academics is considered important but co-curricular activities such as Science fest, Commerce fest, IT fest and others are organized often.
