A Concise Review on Shivaji College

Overall Rating
Shivaji College has an adequate size of the campus. Since it is a part of DU, it already has its brand value. It's indeed the best college among off campus DU colleges. Overall it has good vibes and societies. Societies are active and teachers are also helpful.
 

Academics Rating
To get admission in B.Sc Chemistry (Hons.), you need to have Physics, Chemistry and Maths in your 12th class. The admission happens through CUET UG and counseling based on the merit. The course is not a very crowded course which means you'll get enough opportunities in future under this field. Moreover after doing this course, you can go in any field like teaching (professor), research, scientist, entrepreneurship, etc.
 

Faculty Rating
Teachers are very frank and helpful which makes it easy for us to convey our problems with them. All the teachers are well qualified (Ph.D holders) and have the best knowledge. Some of them need to upgrade their teaching style.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we do have a placement cell. It is very active, but the placement percentage is average.
 

Hostel Rating
There's no hostel facility in the college. You will either have to rent a PG or a flat. Both are easily available nearby.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college is quite compact, it has a main red building as almost all other colleges of DU. A new building is being constructed which is modernized and has good facilities. There's a separate sports complex just in front of college. Maintenance of garden and plants is good but canteen is average.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is good if you really try living it. Societies are very active in the college and you won't fall short of options. Small events keep happening from time to time to kill boredom. 2 day fest is also organized in which all the cultural societies have their performances and it is ended with the live performance of the famous singer. You'll find people from almost all places across India but mostly population is from Delhi or Delhi-NCR.

    Shivaji College is one of the best off campus colleges in Delhi University. Its campus is very nice. Other than campus, it has a sports complex too and its very impressive. It provides facilities for various sports and is easily accessible to all. Metro is just at a walking distance of 5 minutes. There are many places to hangout like EPICURIA and McD.     College is very average but the overall experience is fine as you will get to experience different things. Societies, elections, fests, events and more are all balanced out with academics. Faculty is good but there aren't any placements as such so opt for it only if you are thinking for masters or higher studies.... Read Full Review

    Honestly, I had my doubts while choosing this college but after being to various colleges of DU, I realized how my college was much better in almost everything i.e., infrastructure, crowd, faculty, location, etc. Hence, I am not ready to trade off this satisfaction. My college has the largest library and the sports complex. Its infrastructure is well maintained.     According to me, college is better for academics and sports and also for co-curricular activities. College has good infrastructure and also a healthy environment in which you can develop your knowledge and skills.     Infrastructure of Shivaji College is average like new things are being added, upgrading its features. Grounds are large to play various sports such as basketball, badminton, volleyball and many more.
