My Point of View on New Alipore College

Overall Rating
New Alipore College is one of the colleges under Calcutta University. Its performance is good in every department. Faculty members are very helpful and three years in the college doesn't feel like a hard time. This college also has a Disciplinary Act and an Anti-Ragging Cell which is helpful for the students. The website of college is up to date and has LMS portal which can be accessed by teachers for uploading notes and study material for the students to download.
 

Academics Rating
I studied B.Sc (Honors) in Zoology from this college. In B.Sc Department, the subjects comprises of Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany and Anthropology as sub-departments. I received a vast knowledge on genetics, parasitology, immunology, cell biology and also other papers of my course. Participation in debate, painting, quiz, essay writing, etc. is beneficial for the students.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are good and helpful in every aspect. In B.Sc Department many of them are Ph.D holders in their respective subjects. They are knowledgeable in the subjects. I am thankful to my teachers for imparting theoretical and practical knowledge. Office staff and union members are very helpful. Excursions are organised department wise for subjects like Zoology, Geography, etc.
 

Placement Rating
I don't know very much about placement but I know that some educational institutes and companies conduct meet up with the students.
 

Hostel Rating
As I know, there was no hostel or residential facility for the students provided by the college during my enrollment.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of my college is good and well maintained. Classrooms are big, airy, and many of them have projectors which is beneficial for the students to understand difficult topics. The canteen serves delicious foods at low price. There is a common room in college where students play indoor games like carom, table tennis. There is a ground to play outdoor games like football, cricket, badminton etc.
 

Campus Rating
My college campus is very enjoyable and has a fantastic environment. Colorful flowers are planted in the gardens which is an eye catching and a very comfortable zone. We enjoy festivals like Saraswati Puja, Boshonto Utsav, etc. We have an annual college fest where many renowned singers and bands are invited to perform.

    New Alipore College is located in New Alipore which is easily accessible by students as it has a railway station nearby. The college’s ambiance is very good. The principal, teachers and staff members are very good and helpful. The college has a big library which allows students to read and learn about many new topics.
