Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management B.Tech Review By Pushpesh Kumar

I got into this college through COMEDK. When i searched about the college on the internet I got to know that this college is known for its innovation. So I was excited to see the college. When I joined, everything was normal. As the semester passed, I got to know about the various types of clubs, launch pads, and the startups. Then I joined some launch pads, got to know about them, and worked with them. So, if you are a good problem solver and you want to start your own startup or want to make good connections, then this college is most suitable for those types of students. Here, if you are good with the faculty members then you can ask for the projects also. As they can connect you with some of their industrial contacts also.

If you want to come to this college then there are 3 entry ways to get admission. First is to write the KCET exam, second is COMEDK, and third is through Management. Most of the people join this college for its CSE, ISE, and ECE department. And in rest of the departments the quantity of the students is less than 60, except the Mechanical and Robotics department. Our college provides Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Information Science & Engineering (ISE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), and Robotics & Automation (RA).

The faculty members are highly qualified. All of them hold Ph.D degrees, with their research papers published with the IEEE journal. But the problem with these faculty members is that they are not able to deliver the lecture properly. There are some teachers who do well but all the faculties are not so good.

Placements are provided but the companies are not too good. If any good companies come, they offer low package up to 9 or 10 LPA, not more than that. There are some Japanese companies also which offers above 20 LPA but you have to do the job in their country. There are some good companies also but they take only 1 or 2 people and they offer up to 25 LPA and not more than that. If you want more than 25 LPA then you have to go for off campus placements.

College provides hostel facility. The hostel rules are very strict so you have to be there in the college by 7:00 pm and for the girls its 6:30 pm. If you are late then you have to call your parents and even write a letter. The mess is good no problem with that. If you don’t want to stay in the college hostel, then you can go for PG also. There are many decent PGs outside the college. Some of the PGs offer you with mess also and some don’t. The vegetarian students may face some issues as some of the mess here does not provide vegetarian food options. If they do, the food is almost the same every day.

The campus is very small and is built in 6-7 acres land only. The campus has only two blocks. In the main block we have the classes and in the second block we have all the launch pads and the startups. In the second block there is a RDL lab where the students can conduct their research.

Every year our college organizes the branch entry, and some national events where people come and join the events. We have the Aerophilia event, and SOSC event which are basically technical events. Sometimes we also have some shows in these events, and many more.
