Punjab Engineering College B.Tech Review By Harshit Minhas

During my JEE days I always thought of getting admission in Punjab Engineering College. After my admission here I felt happy for some days, during my 7 days long orientation and then everything became normal. You need to make a good friend circle. Everyone here is very helpful. The seniors will provide notes for every subject. I must say apart from the academics, the cultural fests are also excellent here be it PEC fest (annual fest), sports day celebrations, orientation or convocation. During PEC fest, there is a foot fall of around 50 thousand people from Chandigarh and many celebrities come to perform on PEC fest.

For admission in B.Tech courses here, there is only one way that is through JEE Mains. Different engineering streams are available, I am pursuing Computer Science and got 98.5percentile in my JEE Mains. In the college, lectures are conducted on daily basis. There is 75% attendance policy which states that if your attendance is below 75%, your grade will be downgraded by 1.

Most of the faculty members are experienced here and have traditional teaching style. You can freely ask doubts. After almost every lecture, there is a tutorial class lead by a Ph.D student in which the students can ask anything. But some of the faculty members are not up to the mark.

Infrastructure of the college needs much improvement and renovation. However facilities like ATM, dispensary, food joints and stationary are available in the famous PEC Market near the campus.

The campus is beautiful (ignoring the infrastructure) and full of greenery. Overall the campus life is decent and the quality of students is good here.
