My Life at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore

Overall Rating
Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering is easily in the list of top 5 Engineering colleges in Bangalore. The college offers good placement opportunities to all students. So if you are an aspiring engineer then Dayananda Sagar should be in your priority list.
 

Academics Rating
All types of engineering courses are offered in the college. The old school or basic courses like Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering are offered. Some new courses like Computer Science and Design, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are also offered. The admission process is through entrance exams (KCET and COMEDK) or through management quota. If appearing for entrance exams then make sure to get a very good rank as this college has a very low cutoff.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties in the college are pretty experienced. Most of them have a Ph.D, and many years of teaching experience. When it comes to teaching style then it differs from teachers to teachers. Many of the teachers not only emphasize on marks but also on practical knowledge. They also involve us in many projects and internships to gain work experience and practical knowledge.
 

Placement Rating
Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering offers great placements for almost all courses Mainly the Computer Science, Information Technology and Electronics and Communication Engineering students get placed for high packages but the overall placed student percentage has gone down a bit from 80% in 2020 to 65 % in 2024. If you have good skills and practical knowledge about your course, then you will get placed in a good company as many top companies that visit the college for placements.
 

Hostel Rating
The college does have a hostel which costs around 1 lakh 10 thousand nearly per year. This also includes a mess which provides breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner daily (except 2nd Saturdays). The college has separate girls and boys hostel. It also has a gym where students can keep themselves fit. The rooms are usually in double sharing and are spacious with a bathroom attached.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college has a huge campus which is spread over 25 acres. Each department has its own block. Most of the blocks include lifts, clean washrooms, filtered water, labs related to the block, libraries. The college has 2 canteens and a food truck. One offers South Indian and the other offers North Indian. The food truck has various Italian, Chinese and even some Indian options to try out for. There is a temple situated at the centre of the campus where we can find peace. There is a rock garden in the campus where we can chill with friends.
 

Campus Rating
The students that come to study in the college are mostly open minded and can easily make friends. Departmental fests are conducted from time to time. Some major fests of the college are ‘Furore’ and ‘Vibrations’. These fests are usually held by clubs. Some of the clubs include media club, art club, dance club, etc. Students can join any of these clubs according to their interests. The college does conduct a sports day. Overall the college has a number of extracurricular activities.

    The overall experience at DSCE Bangalore has been a great. The infrastructure is very good and has been well maintained. The campus is filled with trees and plants, making it a pleasant environment for students.     In general, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering is quite good. It has a good campus area, while being situated in the main city of Bangalore. Good Infrastructure, facilities and good academics structure is provided. The college is just 10 km far from the main railway station of the city i.e. KSR (SBC) so there is no issue regarding connectivity.
