Techno Main Salt Lake B.Tech Review By Sayan Kumar

I joined Techno Main Salt Lake in the academic year 2023. My department is B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Right from my school days, I knew that this college has an excellent college because of its academic record along with innumerable co-curricular activities. My core interest was on Electronics as well as Software Development, especially App development. Techno Main Salt Lake provides excellent opportunities, which includes a lot of Hackathons and Coding competitions, technical competitions like auto bots and manual bots. Our college has got many clubs which organizes fests and events (both tech and non-tech throughout the year). I chose this college because apart from Engineering, I have interest in photography, videography, content creation and this college is an ideal place for these things. Anyone who wants to explore a lot of other fields can surely take admission in this college. It will surely help each ambitious student to get a chance to explore every other field possible.

Techno Main Salt Lake is mainly famous for Engineering courses, but apart from it, Management courses and Computer Application courses are also well organized. To take admission in Engineering, one has pass 11-12th standard in Science (PCM) stream. Admission takes place through West Bengal Joint Entrance examination (WBJEE), Joint Entrance examination (JEE Mains) and direct admission is also possible. A minimum aggregate of 60% and above in 12th standard is recommended. Cutoff in our department goes up to 15,000 in WBJEE and above 90 percentile in JEE Mains. (Although this rank varies every year). If anyone is really tech savvy and wants to explore a lot of fields apart from studies, can surely join this college. This college is the root for every ambitious student.

Techno Main Salt Lake has got excellent faculty members. Our department has highly qualified professors, mostly Post Doctorates and M.Tech qualified. Most faculty members have graduated or post graduated from renowned colleges, for example NIT Durgapur, IIT Kharagpur, Jadavpur University and so on. Some of the faculty members have also been ex-professors in some of these renowned colleges. Their style of teaching is simple and easy to grab as well, for any kind of student. There's a myth that only intelligent students can pursue Engineering, but our faculty members are capable enough to teach all kinds of students. They are strict at times, but that's for our benefit.

Yes, our college has got a placement cell, with renowned professors as its head. It is really helpful for those, who are trying to grab a decent and above average on-campus placements. Even the placement cell plays a major role for those, who are trying for off-campus interviews as well. The placement cell has very deep knowledge regarding the current placement scenario of the industry.

Our college has three to four separate buildings. The whole engineering block has its own 10 floor building. Each department is given a specific floor. (Like our ECE department is on the 8th floor). We have 4-5 elevators. The labs are excellent. They have all the equipment in the best conditions, along with air conditioned rooms. The college building and floors are maintained at regular intervals. Each department has got a separate faculty room in each floor. For placement cell, we are given with a separate floor as well. The washrooms are clean and very hygienic. We have also got one single library for all departments and individual departmental libraries as well.

The campus life is one of the best in Kolkata. Techno Main Salt Lake has 4-5 clubs, each conducting events of specific genre. Like for example, we've got a cultural club which organizes the freshers for first year students, and a big cultural fest, inviting mega stars every year. The campus is decent enough for handling the student crowd. We have a tech club which conducts the second largest tech fest in Eastern India, which is phenomenal. Respectable guests are also invited here. Co-curricular activities are very regular in our college. Photography, sports, videography, film making, singing, dancing, debate, elocution, gaming (both PC and mobile), painting, indoor games and many more. A student joining techno main Salt Lake will never be bored, due to its highly engaging students and environment.
