Review on St. Xavier's University, Kolkata

Overall Rating
St. Xavier's University, Kolkata can prove good option for the candidates who failed to crack CLAT and have to get admitted in a private university. Overall it is a good university to study. Among the other private universities, the faculty, the standard of teaching, the standard of the syllabus and the internship provided are superior.
 

Academics Rating
One has to crack the Xavier Law Aptitude Test (XLAT) to get into this university. A minimum of 45% marks are required. My motive for enrolling in this program was to pursue Law. Though the university needs to update its syllabus as per the current requirements.
 

Faculty Rating
Majority of the faculty members are very helpful and very proficient with their work. They are very approachable. Conversely, only handful of them needs to bring changes in their teaching style. Others take classes regularly and resolve queries in case of any doubts.
 

Placement Rating
We do have a placement cell in our university for this course but since only one batch has passed till date, it is not very developed.
 

Hostel Rating
We have hostel in our university. Rooms are available in double sharing with joint washrooms.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are various sports facilities available for both outdoor and indoor games. The campus space is pretty decent. The law library of the university is great. It is well stocked with sufficient books, journals and newspapers. Facilities like canteen, gym, lift, moot court, etc. are also available in the university.
 

Campus Rating
There are a lot of extracurricular and co-curricular activities available in university. The University also organized annual fest: ‘Xavrang’ every year for the refreshment of the students. Cultural programs like singing, dancing, recitation, drama, etc. are also conducted from time to time. Other events of the university include quizzes, debates like oxford style, parliamentary style, the internship cell, and fashion show. Overall the campus life of this university is good. Also the people are very friendly.

    Overall Rating
    The experience at St. Xavier's University was great. The main reason that made me choose this university was the packages. Companies like SVF, ABP, and ZEE provide packages to students which students can avail. The highest package provided is 30 LPA and average package is around 13 LPA.     Overall Rating
    St. Xavier's University is a new extension of St. Xavier's College, established in 2017. My experience with this university is quite good and decent, but the only issue is the security guards keep on telling everyone to wear their ID cards. The college has an academic block, and there are 2 canteens with a gym, mess and hostel facilities for both boys and girls and a games room.
