Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya is a state affiliated A graded university in Pachpedi Jabalpur, MP. It is also known as Jabalpur University. I am doing my undergraduate BA LLB (Hons.) from this university. The university provides wide range of courses, diplomas as well as Ph.D degree. It has recently started with B.Tech as well as Fashion Technology courses. It has a wide spread campus with greenery as it is situated near the Asia's biggest urban forest "Dumna Nature Park" and the airport. The university has a history of creating great alumni who were doing great including people being higher judiciary, ISRO scientists and vice chancellor of various colleges. I have chosen this university due to proximity to high court as well as great support of judicial preparation. People that have interest in judiciary must join this university.

University provides all the courses whose admission is based on the merit list. The entrance can be initiated either by e-pravesh or from the UTD website. There is reservation for the various classes of people as well as for women. The teaching method is student centric and mostly based on research work. In my department, teachers give us assignments and presentations in each semester. The questions papers have 10 questions out of which 5 have to be attempted the markings are based on presentations as well as the content of the answer that needs to be lengthy and deeply analyzed. The classes happen even if a single child is sitting in the class. The teachers take lectures on time but tend to delay the results. I joined this university because of its reputation and I also want to become a lawyer in future.

The faculties are supportive and help the students in almost every situation. Some of the teachers have completed their Ph.D. I personally like the teaching method of Mrs. Sujata ma'am who teaches criminal Laws. Most of the teachers have experience of more than 10 years and have good command over the subjects. Captain sir has researched based style of teaching while Sujata ma'am has lectured based teaching style. Devi Lata ma’am seeks creative assignments where as Ashwani Sir is the most energetic teacher. Umakant Gajbir sir is student's favorite faculty. The teaching quality changes in each semester. However, the teaching style and co-ordination with students can be improved for more fruitful results.

There is no placements cell in my department but every year, there are various programs which happen to provide internship and placements to eligible students like Rozgaar Mela as well as vocational training center. If anybody wants to join any internship program, then they need to make huge preparation and request the HOD.

Yes, the university provides hostels for both boys and girls at a very reasonable cost. The hostels also have inbuilt food catering system. To get the hostel, one has to get a form plus two affidavits, one for anti raging and other for obliging to the terms and conditions of the hotels. Once the form is signed by the HOD, the person can stay in the hostel. The hostels are very close to the university with Wi-Fi supports as well as playing grounds for recreational activities. I chose to leave the hostel because of the strict rules and it was near the forest area. One can also stay in the PGs and Private hostels near the university.

The university has a huge central library each department also has their own libraries. Students can also access the books online through e-granthalay portal. The academic blocks are old buildings which are under renovation and are upgrading day by day. Each department has Wi-Fi connectivity. There are two big grounds and large halls for playing and recreational activity. It also has its own gym for boys and girls along with canteen that provide food and snacks at a reasonable price.

The campus life of university is very simple and not very hectic. There are various competitions such as speech, debate, quiz, paintings, etc. that happen at various intervals. The university supports NCC and various sports events like inter university cricket competition. The physical education department has students representing university at National level and State level in various sports like kabaddi, etc. I hope this review helps you to clear out your queries.
