An Overview of New Alipore College

Overall Rating
I chose this college to pursue my Bachelor's degree, since this college is under University of Calcutta. My field is Computer Science (Hons). During my time in this college, I got to experience and learn lot of things in my field as professors were very helpful and open minded. The labs were very accessible which was also helpful for us to practice our assignment.
 

Academics Rating
Since my course is Computer Science (Hons.), I got to learn many coding and languages in every semester. I got 86% in ISC board which made me eligible to take admission in this college but the eligibility criteria is to have marks above 60% in 10+2. A prior knowledge about Computer Science like Coding and other simple tasks is required to fully understand this course.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members are all highly knowledgeable in this field. Most of them posses Ph.D degrees. They guide us in every problem regarding assignments and studies. They have knowledge about every aspect of this field. They provide us with study materials and other assignments. In case of emergencies online classes are held to cover the syllabus and regular classes are mainly taken using smart boards and projectors.
 

Placement Rating
Our college doesn't provide any placement since it is a government aided college. However, professors may give you lead for the companies that may hire us or give us an opportunity to attend an interview or seminars.
 

Hostel Rating
There is no hostel facility in the college. Students can stay in available PG nearby or rent a flat which are available near the college.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of the campus is well developed with CCTV cameras at every corner of the college to maintain the security of the college. There are two buildings, a playground, canteen and boys' and girls' common room. Each floor of the building has separate departments. There is a huge seminar room where most of the important meetings and seminars are held. The boys' and girls' washrooms are somewhat maintained.
 

Campus Rating
Annual fest of the college is the event of the college where it invites many famous artists to perform. Many other events like for Saraswati Puja and Holi are also organized every year and students may take part in it. The institute allows the free spirit of the students to explore things and hobbies other than studies and academics like sports and management.

    Overall Rating
    New Alipore College is one of the colleges under Calcutta University. Its performance is good in every department. Faculty members are very helpful and three years in the college doesn't feel like a hard time. This college also has a Disciplinary Act and an Anti-Ragging Cell which is helpful for the students. The website of college is up to date and has LMS portal which can be accessed by teachers for uploading notes and study material for the students to download.... Read Full Review

    New Alipore College is located in New Alipore which is easily accessible by students as it has a railway station nearby. The college’s ambiance is very good. The principal, teachers and staff members are very good and helpful. The college has a big library which allows students to read and learn about many new topics.
