Nirma University B.Tech Review By Aarchi

Nirma University consists of many institutes like Institute of Technology, Institute of Management, Institute of Pharmacy and so on. Overall experience of university has been really good so far. It is spread across 115 acres. Lot of events, either technical or non-technical like Fresher parties, Treasure hunts, Cultural fests, Personality Contests, Competitions, Traditional days, Hackthon and above all, my personal favorite, concerts keep happening from time to time. Personally, I chose this university because it offers core engineering courses and its location is also suitable for me. Also, the placement is pretty good comparatively. You should also opt for Nirma if you fall in its range academically.

I am currently pursuing a B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering specialization stream. The syllabus for the Computer Science and Engineering can be viewed in official website of Nirma University. For enrolling in this course, you would need around 98% or above in JEE or ACPC rank below 400 approximately, not considering vacant round. One can consider choosing this course as it is a core Computer course, with an updated curriculum.

All the faculties in the university have either completed Ph.D or currently pursuing it. Based on my experience, majority of them are really good and easy going. They teach to the point, provide the necessary content to learn and motivate you as well. But sometimes you may have a faculty whose teaching style is not suitable for you. In that case you need to put more efforts to learn the subject.

We have a placement cell in our university, called III Cell. It definitely helps the students in keeping them updated regarding opportunities and conducting mock interviews. The coordinators of III Cell also offer a speaker session in the orientation program at the beginning of your journey.

We do have hostel facilities at Nirma. Recently, a girls’ hostel is also available in campus with 13 floors, 36 rooms in each floor (in AC and Non-AC preferences both), with face scan for entry. The time limit for hostel is 11:30 PM, giving you enough time to explore the city and the campus easily. The management of hostel and mess is truly appreciable. Other amenities of hostel are gym, mess, laundry services, attached washroom. As of 2024, there are 4 hostels.

Nirma university has various blocks of different institutes with AC, drinking water, washrooms, labs and elevators in each. There is a dedicated block for account section and Xerox. The structure is well maintained and in good condition. There are many other amenities available like auditoriums, cricket ground, supercomputer, research labs, etc.

Campus life at Nirma is very interesting and happening. You will meet a variety of people, with whom you can explore the campus, work over different projects and assignments in reading areas, or just hangout near the fountain or canteens or vending machine. You may stay back at university after classes to organize some event, or be present at concert. Overall, it is truly a good experience
