Decent Campus life at Goenka College Kolkata

Overall Rating
Goenka College is well renowned college in West Bengal and it's a dream college for many students. Professors are well trained and experienced. Overall, it is a decent college.
 

Academics Rating
Eligibility criterion for admission is to have 75% marks in class 12th standard. If you looking for graduation degree in B.Com from tier 1 college than you can enter in this college. Although it is very tough to take admission here as cut off is between 90 to 95% for general candidates during my time. Now if they take admission through CUET than it will also very hard because cut off will be high there also.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are well experienced. Some are Ph.D degree holders and some are professional CFA. Many professors have been students of Goenka itself and have experience of more than 20 to 25 years. Best teacher are here who have written many books as per CU guidelines. These books are very helpful for the students. They teach in English, Bengali and Hindi language.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, college has placement cell headed by the elected professors during the period. It helps students to get to know about different opportunities. Companies like EY, Shaw, Axis Bank, HDFC, etc come here for recruitment.
 

Hostel Rating
College has no separate hostel. You have to find your own accommodation in PGs or flats.
 

Infrastructure Rating
College has two buildings one is administrative building and one in which regular classes are taken. Over all it has a good infrastructure as compared to other government colleges. College has separate lifts for teachers and students. Water cooler is also available. I floor is Library section with reading rooms and group floor has common room for chilling and playing games.
 

Campus Rating
Campus is not too much big but it has decent campus as it lies in the central Kolkata. Fest is organized in the month of October every year and many colleges participate in the fest. Inter college competition is held every year and our college also participate in this competition.

    Goenka is a brand name; this has been rumored in all over the Kolkata. But the truth is completely opposite it has nothing special about it and the placements are not good. College premises and campus is just too small. Like the campus can't even occupy 200 students at once. Though the classrooms are quite big and occupy the number of students allotted to that class.     My experience at Goenka College was good. It is among the best commerce college in Kolkata. Anyone interested in pursuing B.Com after 12th should definitely apply here. The fees structure is minimal and easily affordable.
