GEC, Patan is located in Patan, which is small city and will decrease your cost of living. It is a government college which has benefits as compared to private colleges. Overall my experience is good enough at this college. There are several scholarships also. Since it is in small city, it also teaches students to live in every situation. It is safe area also for girls too.

In GEC, Patan there are 5 branches. Every branch has different cutoffs for admission. Nowadays many students apply in CSE, so cutoff of CSE is higher than others. Students can get admission based on merit of GUJCAT or 12th grade or JEE exam results. Since it is Government College, merit is important. Admission on the basis of management quota is not possible.

Faculties of GEC, Patan are very kind, helpful, intelligent and fun loving. They always give good advice to students. Every faculty pays attention to each student. Each and every faculty has good knowledge of their particular subjects. They also teach some real life values.

Yes, every department has its own placement cell and it really helps students to get jobs. Around 80 to 90% students of CSE branch were placed last year. Many renowned industries also come for the interview.

There are girls’ and boys’ hostel in the college. Both the hostels have mess facilities. There are triple sharing rooms in hostels. Rooms and hostel campus is fully air conditioned. Girls’ hostel has very good security system. There is a balcony in every room. Food delivery and parcel delivery are also available. There is good atmosphere in hostel. No ragging takes place in the hostel premises. Some festival celebrations and parties are often organized for the students.

There are 5 departments in college. Each department has its own building. Apart from them, there is a COE building, administrator building, workshop and library. There is cricket and volleyball ground. There is an auditorium too. There are seminar halls in every building. Construction in the college is still going on.

There are several clubs and societies which are managed by students like NSS, Code Hives, Cultural Committee, Sports Committee, etc. Cultural and Sports weeks are also celebrated each year in the campus. Many students of college have gone to national level also. Many festivals are celebrated by students and faculty coordinately. Many events, seminars, webinars and competition also held in college from time to time.
