Bangabasi College, Kolkata Review

Overall Rating
Bangabasi College is one of those colleges which are a boon to the students who are good in studies but couldn't score well in their 12th standard. The College is more or less good for pursuing your higher studies. As the campus is near the Sealdah Station, students residing little far from Kolkata can get an easy access to trains.
 

Academics Rating
To take admissions in this college, you have to pass your Higher Secondary examinations from a recognized board with minimum 50% marks. From the year 2024-25, admissions in almost all colleges of West Bengal are being conducted through the Centralized Admission Portal. So, one has to follow all the details provided in the Portal to get admission.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are more or less good. All of them are well qualified. Few of them are little arrogant that's it. Their teaching style is same as any other government colleges of Kolkata. Proper classes are held 4-5 days in a week. I can assure if you follow the lectures regularly, you will surely score good marks.
 

Placement Rating
Frankly speaking, placements are not up to the mark.
 

Hostel Rating
Unfortunately, there is no hostel facility available in this College currently.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The College is situated in the suburbs of Sealdah and Kolkata and is surrounded by markets. The classrooms with high ceilings are very comfortable during the long summer seasons. The College canteen serves good quality food which both affordable and tasty. It also has other facilities like Wi-Fi, Library and Laboratory for Science students.
 

Campus Rating
If you are good in making friends, I bet you will have a memorable campus life here. Beside studies, the College also focuses over extra-curricular activities. Every year, it organizes the sports festival. Traditional events like Saraswati Puja, Rabindra Jayanti, Basant Utsav, etc. are also celebrated in the campus. Fresher's Welcome Party is also organized each year. The Union Guys are little annoying but if you cope with them you will have a great life here.

    Bangabasi College is situated in Sealdah, Kolkata and is one of the oldest and government aided college of Fine Arts in West Bengal. I joined the college in 2022 in the Department of Sociology, where the finest and well qualified teachers are present to mentor and guide us throughout our journey.     You can join the Bangabasi College, Kolkata after 12th standard and you can join any course in science like physics, chemistry, botany, and zoology. You must be from a science background. You can find all official notices like admission dates and fees details on the official website. I don't think there are reservation benefits but you can check the official website.     The college has excellent faculty members who have sufficient knowledge to teach. Library is also great as it helps a lot to get in-depth knowledge about various subjects.     The Science departments specifically Chemistry and Physics courses are very good in the college. The library is very good with lots of books. Hostel services are not available here. The faculties are very supportive and highly educated. The environment outside the college isn't that much good. It is a decent college for pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree.... Read Full Review

    The Bangabasi College, Kolkata is an average college just like the other colleges present under University of Calcutta. I can say that our college is good compared to other colleges under University of Calcutta. The teaching staff is average. The semester exams including practical exams are conducted in external colleges so it is quite tough for the students. The cultural programs organised by our college are great.... Read Full Review
