Since I always wanted to become a yoga trainer, so I enrolled in the M.Sc program in Yoga in 2019 and learned plenty of yoga therapies. Besides, I associated with different health care teams and learned new yoga asanas to impart a fit lifestyle among the future generation. Every faculty was so kind and cordial and they made it quite easy for me as well as my classmates to learn all the poses with proficiency. As discussed earlier, I applied for the Yoga course which was a PG course for two years. If you wish to apply for the same, you must have at least 50% marks in your graduation from a recognized college to be eligible for the seat. Luckily, I had 55% in my English honors, so I could apply without any hassle. When I was in NSHM, the courses were conducted in the evening from 6 pm to 9 pm; however, the time can change now. Both practical and lab sessions were held on weekends and it was an incredible experience for all of us. Trust me, the lab sessions were something that you would not want to miss. Not only was it fun but it was also helped me in my future endeavors.

My heart goes out to the faculty of NSHM. Not only were they extremely professional in their work but they guided me throughout with all the yoga poses. Literally, anybody who faced any problem reached out to the faculty members without any hesitation. They constantly helped the students until they learned the poses efficiently.

Every student had a fair chance to sit for the placements and many students got placed in the top companies of Kolkata. Many reputed companies like Wipro, Cognizant, TCS, Larsen, and Turbo came to our campus for placement. Our college has good tie-ups with the MNC’s across Kolkata. All you need to do is prepare yourself well for the interview and you can crack it without much difficulty.

The hostel facility is quite average in our college. Although there are separate hostel rooms for boys and girls, they are not quite developed. Moreover, you have to share your room with another classmate. But the good part is that there is no dearth of rooms and you will easily find one for yourself. The basic amenities are available in the rooms and you won’t find an issue with that. Food is served four times a day, but the food quality is not up to the mark. Also, the management is a bit strict, so you have to maintain a deadline of 7 pm. If you wish to stay in a hostel, then get ready to pay Rs. 36,000 yearly for the stay.

NSHM has a world-class infrastructure. From libraries to auditoriums, you will find everything on its premises. There is also a cafeteria, stores, and conference halls within the campus. The classrooms are air-conditioned and cleanliness is maintained every day on the premises. Medical support and emergency support are also readily available here. The campus has almost everything that one could have asked for.

Campus life at NSHM is quite thrilling. Why? Because there are so many events that are conducted throughout the year that you will be spoilt for choices. From workshops such as Grapho Therapy Workshops, cooking workshops to contests and blood camps, NSHM hosts it all to make a fun experience for everyone. Besides, it also has different student clubs such as Aangan Club, Bizbee Club, etc. where you can enroll to take part in the core activities in the college. One should be a part of the clubs during college life as time spent with the clubs is the only thing that we will remember after a while.
